I was talking specifically about Englands. We seem to be pretty fortunate with our group draws normally. And short of a McClaren-esque cock up, qualify with ease. As such I don't think we particularly learn anything useful about the side for 2 years.

I very rarely watch England now. We stroll through qualifiers like taking candy from a baby. Get to the tournament and suddenly find it's a different ball game.
