Seriously! Ok, not as good as Pele, Maradonna and Cruyf, but Grealish is the best English player we've had since Gascoigne and one of the very few English players who are willing to dribble the ball, and receive the ball in tight situations. We need more maverick type players. They're the difference between quarter finals, and winning tournaments, and Southgate should be building his team around him.

He's infinitely better than Gascoigne.
He really isnít. Yet
What did Gascoigne do for a team outside of Scotland that Grealish hasn't? He was talented, but a liability, and no more talented than many players of his generation. And much less than some.
Disagree, SE. At his best, he was unplayable, and he demonstrated that at Spurrrrrs and at Lazio.
But, again, they are different types of players: JG is a more complete player than Gascoigne was.

My most enduring memory of Gascoigne apart from his goal against Scotland were his dirty fouls against Nottingham Forest in the FA cup final. Thought he could have been sent off twice in that match.

He was completely out of control in that game, could of hospitalised both Parker and Charles. Ironically that was the beginning of the end of what he could of been. He was never quite the same again apart from the odd game of brilliance. That game highlighted his mental instability unfortunately.

I would be absolutely shocked if Jack left this summer

Personally I think he will go. The players we have bought and have bid for suggest just that. I hope Iím wrong, which I usually am!

Or we could just be building the team required to keep him

You could have said the same when we signed Traore. Grealish is still here.

My gut feeling says Jack wonít ever play for another English club. If he ever leaves it will be Madrid/abroad

I will confidently predict whether he is staying or leaving, as soon as the transfer window shuts.

I just dont understand this mentality when we buy good players and people say "oh he must be leaving then". Why the hell would he leave when we are improving the squad. He wants to play every week at Villa. He does not want to sit on the bench for man city or england or anyone else. If we are not top6 at the end of next season he may reconsider.

The mainstream media are mad for him to leave Villa and go to one of the self anointed big 6. They literally cannot compute why he would remain at Villa and it doesnít fit the endless cycle of click bait and regurgitation of big six propaganda on the likes of talk shite.
This is exactly how it was last summer and if he stays this season exactly how it will be next summer, until a time he either runs out of form or he leaves.
They just donít understand that the money doesnít matter here, weíre loaded. Itís all about Jack.

Why do you ignore Swansea and Cardiff?

Annoys me that the media seem much keener for Grealish to leave us, than Kane to leave Spurs.

Because all their bluster about the European Super League was a lie. They don't actually want to preserve the dignity of competition - they just want to preserve the status quo, infinite games in infinite competitions, millions of hours of content, and as David Mitchell said in that sketch 'each more climactic than the last'. The extent of their caring about competition is among the Scab 6, and fuck all the rest.

Yeah, although I'm pleased because I like Saturday 3pm games, the contempt for Villa is shown by the TV choices in August. First three Man U games shown, first three Liverpool games shown, first three Arsenal games shows. No Villa.
