Can someone explain all these Prince Philip posts please? I don't get it/them.
Tipped to come in for Elmo at Right Back?

More likely to be fit for the Spurs game than Jack?

To be fair we were crap with him since the covid break return.
Last night's game reminded me of our two games against Burnley; both of which featured our Jack.

In the main this season he has moved on another level or three, which in turn has propelled us up the league.
Other players have improved the team for sure but we need Jack every game.

He's more comfortable on the right wing.

Fair point, but he didn't have great games in those two and we didn't play well.  I just think we are in a position where it seems the whole club seems to be built around him and there is a negative vibe around the place when he is not playing.

Paul Merson said on Soccer Saturday last weekend that we would be in a relegation fight if Grealish didn't play for us.  I do have a sneaking feeling that he was not a million miles away with that comment.  I think the reality is that we are going to be tested with offers this summer, particularly if he does well in the Euros.

I'm not sure I agree there. We've got a reasonable enough team without Jack. Obviously it's weaker, but I don't think we'd be in a relegation battle either.

Which brings me on to the 2nd half of that point. Of course the team appears to be built around Jack. Literally every club in Europe would build their side around him. He's in the Messi/Ronaldo/Mbappe bracket of player.

Merson is a lazy, inarticulate pundit. I can't believe he wasn't part of the cull of middle-aged white blokes on Sky Sports News last year. Spouts clichťs straight out of a football pub in Islington.

Out for 10-12 games. Basically the season.

Heís injured. Stop with the conspiracy theory bullshit please. Itíll be 5 weeks tops. It needs rest and heíll be back end of March and for the last 10 games.

Itís shin splints - hopefully back for Spurs

Hmmmmm

Ah. The credible source.

Give it another day and he'll be lining up against Wolves. All no doubt from the same credible source

Leave it for another day after that and he was fit for Sheff Utd but wasn't picked.

Not fit for tomorrow according to Smith, "running but not training".

Not fit for tomorrow according to Smith, "running but not training".

We seem to go through this ritual every time Grealish is out.

"He might be back for the next game"

"We're hoping to have him available next week"

It's getting irritating now.

Irritating is putting it mildly.  As you say it follows the same tired blueprint of nonsense every time. Smith says in his conference that he hopes to have Jack back training in a few days, then it always, always turns out to be weeks after.  My prediction is the Fulham game.

Mine is Newcastle. Get the impression Smith wanted to play him tomorrow but the medical staff overruled it.

It buggers belief as Smith initially said he was out for Sheffield Utd but back in for weekend game. That being Wolves.

It feels like they think we canít deal with the news if itís particularly bad.

If heís out for six weeks, just say so.

Does it really matter what they say to us (and the opposition).  As long as the squad are getting accurate updates, surely that is all that matters?
