That doc with the man with 10-stone testicles was repeated not long ago.

If I were Jack I wouldn't sign a new contract at Villa unless I knew the players we were planning to bring in this summer.  Why tie himself further to Villa if we can't meet his aspirations?

100k a week is only (*only*) 5.2m a season, which is dwarfed by even modest transfer fees.

Not that I think anyone really needs that amount of money, but footballers aren't particularly the target of my resentment. There's people paid equally as much, or more, that contribute a whole lot less to people's happiness.

Really? Your boss offers you triple your salary and you'd say no? If he wants to go at some point he'll go. If someone wants him enough they'll pay. If we want him to go, we'll let him. It's simple.

I think those conditions might influence whether or not he stays, but won't stop him signing yet another new contract. He's got 3 years left on his current one, it's not like he's on the verge of a bosman.

Surely that would all depend on the level of the release clause and whether its- in his opinion - one which is realistic and reflects his contribution to the club.  At the end of the day it doesn't matter what we think its down to Jack

It is reasonable to assume Jack may be influenced by the caliber of transfers we bring in.
So his signing a contract and our transfer policy are probably inextricably linked, ( unless of course you believe he has already made his mind up).

There's 3 years left on his contract.  I'm all for extending it and giving him a pay rise if that's what he wants, but gonads to any release clause.

That's the concern. If he wants champions league football and trophies we need to get a move on with signing quality players. The owners have recently made the right noises regarding that so let's hope they mean it.

Can't really imagine Jack having much excitement playing with El Ghazi and Trez much next season compared to Bruno Fernandes and Martial

A very reasonable assumption.

Except if he did end up there he wont be playing with them but occasionally coming on to replace either for about 10 mins.
