The first Villa player to have his own thread stickied on H&V on the week of its 23rd birthday!  When Jack was only a silly little dribbler, rather than a big, sillier one.

A genuine question. Why are people angry about this?

JG has been a stupid dick and hopefully has learn't his lesson.

I can't understand why anyone would be angry about this. Disappointed yes, but angry?

Because we've all been asked to self isolate, and NOT go out if our friends or family invite us.  My four kids haven't seen any of their friends in three weeks, and possibly won't for months, and are missing important schooling.  My (at risk) dad is stuck in a one bedroom flat.  And we're all accepting these restrictions so people who need help will get it, and fewer people will die.  And that gigantic twat, a multi millionaire, can't not go to a party at his mate's house after one week?  Fucking moron, that's what I'm angry about.

I'm not proposing selling him, or stoning him, but I reserve the right to be pissed off when the most public face of our club acts like a c***, especially when it was a couple of days after he released a video people telling people to stay home.

Thanks for the response Martin.
I gave up on footballers as being rational and level headed members of society a long while ago and JG's actions just confirm this (preach something, do the opposite and then have to apologise). Unfortunately, a lot of these overpaid 'stars' just don't get it (some do though).
I understand the at risk, my 80 year old Mum lives by herself in a flat in South Devon and I am worried about her, especially being so far away.
Keep positive mate and I hope the kids don't drive you barmy.

...and from the other side of the spectrum, I’m a widowed 81-year old Grandad living in a two-bed maisonette who is cut off from his children and grandchildren, and altho’ we use all the techie stuff to stay in touch we miss out in the hugs and doing stuff together. I can’t have that many more years to spend on the planet and I want my grandchildren to have happy memories of me and them doing stuff.

This is because we’re doing what we’ve been asked to do because we can see the logic behind the requests. As far as I’m concerned, Grealish may be the Villa’s Roy of the Rovers reincarnate, but if one of the super-rich clubs want to buy him, there’ll be no tears she’d by me.

Alan
A very reasonable point of view.

But I truly hope you don't see us sell him.  I hope you see him lead us to safety and into a new PL era where we are challenging.  I hope you see him fire us to Wembley again and maybe even lift that elusive trophy in the next 2 or 3 years.  And when he does, and I believe he will, I hope you'll be able to look back and forgive him for being a selfish idiot last week.

Speaking of which, what about the poor old whore's?  Can they claim unemployment/furlough?  Are they giving vouchers? Asking for a friend.

Is your comment aimed at me for the above post?
No absolutely not. In fact I just read your post after seeing this.
Oh ok sorry. I'm a bit touchy with it all at the moment.
On edge, in fact?
I see what you did there

Jack just got a mention on Have I Got News For You. Is this a first for a Villa player?

I very much doubt it, it's had about three million episodes.

Of course not.
They totally took the piss out of Pongo Waring in 1931. I thought at the time it was well out of order.

The last figure as of November 2019 was 509 episodes. But if you include repeats on Dave three million is probably about right.
