I think we all know, if we were mixing it in the top six, Jack would be in the England team without question. But historically Villa players have never featured that heavily in the England set up. Technically he is head and shoulders above several of the current England squad. He's a class act!

This is incorrect on an until very, very recently record-holding level.
I take it back, you're right Villa are second, it just doesn't feel thats the case of late.

Apart from Jack, which Villa players do you think have been overlooked in the last decade?

I know what you mean. It was a sickener to lose that, and doubly, trebly, more so to lose it to that bunch.
In a similar vein, I was wondering when two or three of our more seasoned posters were discussing the '57 Final recently, were Villa fans at the time saying, "phew, can't imagine us having to wait 37 years for one of those again"? I'm tired of stuff slipping away into an ever dimmer past.

Yep, this is the problem, we just haven't had enough players performing well enough to deserve a call up in the last decade. In all that time the only players who can feel hard done by are Jack and, to a far lesser extent Albrighton who could easily have got a look in after his breakthrough season.

He doesn’t do tap in’s does he. Awesome finish again

Well actually his first goal at villa park this season in the premier league , 3 months ago , against Brighton funnily enough was a tap in.
And it was one of the worst technics of a tap in anyone will perform.

Grealish is class act but to be accurate he has ability to score scruffy goals too.

I quite like Liverpool but agree about Manure - that would be awful, but peesonal feelings aside it would also be a bad move for Grealish as Solskjaer is (while he does seem a decent enough bloke) a mediocre coach and wouldn’t develop Jack’s game one iota.

Stewards enquiry? Yellow card? Something, something has to happen, surely?!

I know, nearly puked up my tea.  Straight red card that

Apparently a mod saw it and just tutted under his breath, so now no retrospective action can be taken.

What with the whole 'buyout clause - bidding war' debacle earlier in the week, and now this. What is going on?

It's incidents such as that recent Clause episode that make me suspect the matrix might be real.

15 goals/assists in 24. Superb stats.

The most important person at the club right now.

Murphy and Jenas both said on MOTD2 that Jack should be starting for England in midfield and how he's a unique player.

I reckon he will get a go in the next set of fixtures unless he gets injured.

Absolutely no reason why he shouldn’t be in the next England squad. With the talent KD players at his disposal, and if Southgate has any sense, he should pick the England team around Jack...and in a better way than DS has been doing for us.

I'm of the same thought he should be starting for England he's that good this season he's been nothing short of brilliant god knows were we would be if we didn't have Jack playing for us.

Southgate has far more players at his disposal than Smith does.

There has been a lot of criticism of how Grealish has been moved around in the team but it is no coincidence that he's looking a far better player now. He is still learning the game and, the more he is pushed to the limits, the better he seems to get.

Would mean a tactical shift for Southgate, think Kane being injured might suit England. Grealish with the pace of Sterling in front and likes of Sancho on wings and it's a very exciting team. Very concerning that Southgate was comparing him to the other wingers in the squad last time he was asked.

Grealish should have been in the England squad at last World Cup. Likes of Loftus-Cheek in squad ahead of him even then was insane.
