Smith said on the WM radio post-match interview that Jack will definitely be back for the Wolves game. That said, had he played today I think he'd have got us over the line. Our ball retention and hold-up play in the second-half wasn't good enough.

He's not fully fit is he?

He's expected to be back this weekend, and the next England game is a week away.

Was there a reason why they announced the squad already? I'm sure it normally happens at the weekend. Would have made sense to wait and see if he was fit enough to face Wolves and how he did.

It's a shame he missed Liverpool, that could have been the difference.

Unless the plan is the late surprise call up for Euros..

From BBC

On Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish's exclusion:

"Grealish is a very good player - I've watched him closely this season. He played very well against Brighton. The reality is he's up against Raheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford and Callum Hudson-Odoi.

"Jack is a very good player and very close. Any issues with the squad and I wouldn't hesitate to call him up."
