Murphy and Jenas both said on MOTD2 that Jack should be starting for England in midfield and how he's a unique player.

Would mean a tactical shift for Southgate, think Kane being injured might suit England. Grealish with the pace of Sterling in front and likes of Sancho on wings and it's a very exciting team. Very concerning that Southgate was comparing him to the other wingers in the squad last time he was asked.

Grealish should have been in the England squad at last World Cup. Likes of Loftus-Cheek in squad ahead of him even then was insane.

Great again last night.

We're staying up and Jack is staying at Villa.

I thought he had a poor game last night (by his standards). Referees need to realise that teams are taking it turns to foul him though. The ref last night was far too soft (although if he hadn't have been we may have seen Mings get sent off).

He was poor by his standards, that's still quite good, though. Looked a bit knackered towards the end, unsurprisingly given that he is shouldering the burden of our entire attack at times and we have been playing two games a week for the last month and a half.

A week rest will do them all good. It was a cunning scheme to chuck the Fulham game. 😉

Jack poor by his standards?  He's had better games but he is never poor by any standards. He is only measured in terms of good or brilliant.  He was very good again last night.

Might not have been his best game, but he doesn't hide. Works his balls off and always wants the ball. Just need others to do the same.

He needs more protection from the match officials. Teams are clearly targeting him and the amount of fouls is getting ridiculous now. Itís only a matter of time until someone does him another serious injury so it needs to be stamped out.

I've said before, bloke's fkn nails. He's not been unavailable ever due to a kicking, has he? Worst foul last night was Mings, by quite some margin.

The next step for Villa is to get in another player that can adequately understudy Grealish. At the moment all our eggs are in the Grealish basket and I keep my fingers crossed each week that he doesn't get injured, he is the difference between survival and relegation. It won't be easy and I wouldn't expect the same quality but I would like someone who could do a job while he was out, at the moment there is no-one.
