I won't be holding up a 'Good luck from the city of Birmingham' banner, but if we do lose it's not the end of the world.

Half of Liverpool will be loving us up until the point they score.  Once we settle for damage limitation, and devoid of any attacking intent or attribute that might suggest we have an attacking intent they will be hating us as much as the most rabid nose.

They'll accuse us of deliberately not trying so as to spite them. They were having the same dig at Everton on Saturday night, claiming that they weren't trying hard enough to equalise in stoppage time.

All over the world Liverpool fans are thinking about the Villa players and thinking to themselves "they have had some good results against the top clubs", "really a decent team when you think about it" and "they are due some good results"

Welcome to our world Liverpool. It is the hope that kills you.

Presume PL will persist with the 3-5-2 formation.  I'd probably start with KEA, Westwood and Delph as the midfield 3, but look to bring Grealish on towards the end with an eye on him starting at Spurs. I'd maybe also look to give Robinson and Donacien playing time at Spurs.

the most intriguing thing for me will be the line up tomorrow night. No need to keep things the same. At the end of the day the manager of Aston shouldn't care about the impact on other sides. not saying play a weakened side (not sure what that is anymore with us), but try a few things. FFS - play Helenius for example, give some of the young lads a game. Grant Holt shouldn't be in the match day squad for example, neither should Gabby be if he's not 100%. There's no pressure at all. Just go and enjoy tomorrow and Spurs.

Well I've just safeguarded my future by investing a whole £2 on a villa win/Liverpool win the league double at 95/1. I will hand my notice in at work on Thursday morning.

I'm going with a Citeh season-ticket holder.  In all probability I will sit there in the Colin Bell and watch us get hammered, just glad we don't need to scrape a point to assure survival.  However, part of me thinks, maybe, just maybe...

blimey you butchered that quote :)

And how in the hell did Helenius get injured again? Did he collapse on hearing despite being 100% that he had lost out to Holt and Bowery at the weekend?

"Speak for yourself, I'm bored of the prize going unfailingly to the richest guy in the room"

This. I have no time for Scousers but I just happen to think they have played the best attacking football in the division bar none. Citeh & Chelski have thrown money at the title problem and looks like the Mancs may have bought better. The Scousers can't defend which has ultimately let them down at the death but should have been addressed sooner. At least they have unearthed a few diamonds in Sterling and Flanagan.

It's funny how the fact Sterling was nabbed from QPR isn't ever brought up by the fawning commentators and media.
