Yeah and you'd do that with magic money produced from a magic lamp, seeing as you're happy to write off money when a kit supplier can be arsed to do what they're supposed to and actually supply kit.

The club have been writing off money left right and centre for the last 4 years. Has that passed you by?

So your solution is to write off more? To have a kit come out once the Summer has finished so virtually nobody actually buys it?

You keep on about how we should act like a "grand club". If Real Madrid had a kit supplier that still hadn't supplied the kit, months after the deadline, costing them a fortune in the process, do you think that they'd:

(a) Look for a different supplier, probably one that gave them more money while they're at it (let's not forget that Macron give us more money than any supplier in our history)

(b) Just stick with the useless bastards, regardless, because "Di Stefano's Heroes", a misery-arse contributor to the Héroes y Villanos website, only likes clothes with a swoosh on them?

We went from Nike right down to Macron without stopping at Umbro, Adidas, Puma, Diadora or the many other better kit supplier out there. Why? We went from the best to the worst in one leap. It sums up the last 4 years under Lerner.
If you think I'm a "misery arse", fair enough, but I'm realistic unlike many on here. I saw our decline right from the off 4 seasons ago while others on here (not naming names) were dancing with delight at the latest "young and hungry" style bullshit from Lerner and co.
It pays to be a cynic you know.

I think you're probably right about our 'brand decline'.  Early in the Lerner / Nike 'We Start Today' campaign I remember seeing our kits in the Nike superstore on Oxford St., alongside and as prominent as Arsenal and Barcelona.  They must have bought into whatever we were selling and thought we were worth the prime floorspace.  As sad as I am, I went in to have a look - it was all a bit exciting.

A couple of years later and they can't be arsed getting a decent quality kit out anywhere near on time.  I assume they didn't get to be the brand they are by pissing off valuable assets,  so at some point they decided we weren't one.  It was almost as if they wanted shot of us.

So I'd agree it's hard not to see Macron as yet another sign of our decline,  as if we needed one.

As to the kit it's ok - better than last year's.  But that sponsor makes a hell of a mess.

Spot on. Nike was part of the dream Lerner sold us, then he gave up and dumped Macron onto us.

Oh and if you read the last bit I in no way praised the other site. I do object to you implying I was doing that in anyway.

no wonder people are moving across to TBAR.

I used that as an example nothing more nothing less, if this constitutes advertising or praising another site then I stand corrected I shall correct that comment for with and change it to "viewing other sites that maybe available". Is that better and more politically correct.

There's a bit of a difference between what you first said and what you're intending to change it to.

Yes, Liverpool went from Adidas to Warrior without stopping at Macron. A song was recorded. Many candles were lit.

But they didn't go to Macron, which I've said many times it the cheapest tackiest excuse of a kit supplier in football. Oh and they didn't sell most of their best players either. In my opinion moving to Macron was part of Lerner's ongoing downgrading of the club and lowering of the expectations of the fans.
They may have worked their wonders on you, TV, but it didn't with me. It took you a long long time to realise the Villa didn't have genius plan with the "young and hungry" bullshit. In fact I think it was only relatively recently that you realised you fell for it lock stock and barrel.

what you seem to miss entirely is that it is possible to change your opinion as the circumstances change. I certainly don't see everything related to Aston Villa or Randy Lerner as shit as you do. So I'm not even close to having your opinion on that, and I would be confident in saying most people feel the same way. I would guess that most people on here can look at the situation somewhat rationally by identifying areas where things are bad and need improvement (i.e the manager, team etc), and where things are good, even great about the club. I am able to compartmentalize those things and I don't feel the need to hijack every thread turning it into another attack on the club.

I never bought into the "young and hungry" plan in its entirety. What I did buy into was giving the manager time to make his plan work, and allowing him time to evolve. Going into this season that seemed like a sane approach to take and my optimism was based on how things ended last year and started this. The manager has since disappointed me greatly in his approach but I would never say I had those feelings all along because that means I would never have given him a chance to prove himself. That I feel we need change is for a number of reasons, but I will go as far as to say that if he stays and he gets the right support from the new owner, I will be fully behind him again until such time it is not possible to do so.

So because I mentioned another site by name I am accused of advertising them, no actually you accused me of praising them. Yes I have been over there but am not interested 1 bit, it's a sad state of affairs when I've been registered on the site since 2009 and am accused of slagging you all off and am questioned because I don't post all the time. I'm sorry if this doesn't fit with convention but I'd rather not say anything than just spout off all the time.
I have a family I have a job and they are important to me, would you like me to commit to commenting 36 times per day ? I don't mind doing that but if you could pop into work for me and explain to the patients I'm treating that they will have to wait to be seen so I can fulfil my commenting contractual obligations with yourself that would be a great help.

And when you do have time to spare on here you go into a lengthy rant about how we moan too much and we're losing members to somewhere else.    If that's not praise I don't know what it is, but never mind.

At what point did I say that the other site was better in anyway, I have said in my past two posts I enjoy or used to enjoy here. So what if mine was a lengthy rant am I not entitled to write what I feel it was not a moan about all people it was a moan about a certain poster who has been at it all day but you have said nothing to the people who have been having a snipe back at him. You've just chosen to get your back up with me because I mentioned another site, for your information the reason I am writing now is that I am sitting at home waiting for my pager to go off so I can return to work and don't wish to fall asleep, not that it's any of your business when I post.

You're absolutely right about the reason I commented on your post. I'm pissed off with people who come on here saying how bad we are, how good somewhere else is then wonder why they don't get a particularly warm welcome.

Dave as I said earlier I have never said a bad word about the site up until today and the comment was made regarding the poster who was on one about the club being shite, the kit makers cheap and tacky etc. I never even said a bad word about the printed publications bad typos or spelling mistakes back when you first started selling the real fanzine in the early 90s (feel free to correct me on my dates). But that is when I started reading the fanzine purchased from the seller by the church next to the badge men.
I never said the other site was better and we both know that other sites are available and have been for many years but I have grown up reading the fanzine and won't change because I don't want to or need too. My point was that the poster was using a kit release forum to moan about just about everything that he perceived to be wrong with the club and if we went back to the brand with the tick (see what I did there no advertising) everything would be great, I just didn't feel it warranted it that's all. Maybe it's something in the Tamworth air if I have caused the site and you specifically any offence I am man enough to apologise but I can assure you as long as you will have me I will stay on this site, I may not post much but I don't want to or feel the need to. I do however like the kit which I believe is and was the point of the thread.

And there's nothing wrong with that.

It's the going bonkers at people who don't like it that is a bit odd.

Fucks sake it's only a kit stroke strip. Not worth melting the keyboard over.

Indeed.

And the kit is going to be nowhere as displeasing as the useless bozos who will be wearing it next season.
