Man United just signed a £750m kit deal with adidas.

Mind boggling!!

add that to the £53 mil they get from Chervolet from shirt sponsorship and they are on another planet for income.

Did anyone get their away kit delivered by an '82 legend today?

I was at a friend's house when Sid Cowans turned up. What a nice guy.

Great pic, reminds me of what supporting my beloved club is all about. Did you all happen to have your Villa shirts on? Love to see the kids in them

? We had them on because we knew a Villa legend was coming to the house with the AVTV cameras and didn't want to let the side down.

Ah, thank you Dick and apologies, I didn't realise you all knew in advance he was coming. Which it was obvious you would when you stop to think about it

yeah it'd quite funny if a legend turned up and no-one was home.

sorry about that Pete........to summarise...a half naked old man gets ready in a bathroom to Barry White's "I'm gonna love ya just a little more", He ends up getting a Blackburn Rovers shirt from the club shop.

I was more disturbed that they seem to be wearing light blue, instead of their proper blue colour. Their equivalent of Saunders Heroes must have been tearing his hair out.

Slightly off topic I know, but I really hope that when the takeover finally happens that we ditch the current crest. I really don't like it, and for that matter the last one of the Ellis years was bloody awful too. I know a new owner will want to put their own stamp on things, but for me I like the round badge of the 70s and 80s, but also think the badge on the early 70s top with the blue lion and AV under it is a thing of beauty.  Just saying!

I agree, the current one is horrible, and I agree the round one is the best, but I can also see how it wouldn't mean anything to lots of people (ie those too young to remember that era).

I know it's all about opinions,  but the new one is horrid in every shape and form, and the Ellis one is just tacky. I started going to the Villa in the late 70s, so the early 70s badge is a bit too early for me to remember,  but it's so nice. It's beauty is it's simplicity. Less is more.

And you'd be right.  The oldest crest that I can actually remember was the one before last, and its a toss-up between that and the current one for the one I like best.

Plenty of pictures of all the club badges on the internet. I agree with both of you. The current one is dreadful. Looks washed out and is far too big. The round one was by far the best design.

In the old days, we didn't care about brands, we just wanted the kit-regardless who made it
