Since the MON days I have always thought we waste a lot of energy chasing the ball instead of the player.

Since Barry left our ball retention has been shite. Milner covered up with a lot of energy for a season.

Is anybody else finding it difficult to pick out the difference between the two teams? Southampton's away kit is too much like our home.

This is really bad, and really inexcusable. The fans have turned up optimistic, the sun is shining, a poison has supposedly been drawn and we can't pass the ball from one player to the next. No excuses at all.
Surely you didn't expect any different!?

I admit, I was hopeful for a bit more vigour and thrust in the team. Very misplaced optimism so far.

Why is Baker playing ahead of Clark?

Aimless hoof from Baker, I'm not sure if his defensive contribution is strong enough to make up for his complete lack of composure on the ball.

This is the first game I've watched live for a long while (have to work Saturdays) - is this average or worse than normal?

If they've got the ball, it's Southampton.

We're doing some lovely pressing, making their keeper hoof it.

Unfortunately it goes straight to Baker who returns it to them 100% of the time.

Its the same dismal shite that gets served up week after week after week.
