Is the delay caused by the fact that clearance process started with the Premier League and handed over to The League on 1 June when we officially became a championship club?

Think we actually formally become a Championship Club on 8th June - noticed it on that Football League twatter link on the First Game thread. If they're digging really deep (haha) I wouldn't have thought they'd be constrained by a particular date bearing in mind we'll probably be playing PL clubs in cup competitions and will strive to get back to the PL as soon as.  Hopefully if the PL do their job properly the Football League checks should just be a rubber stamp job.

My understanding is that the only thing holding back the clearance from the PL/FL is the shoes. The PL have asked Xia to prove that he owns other, non-gangster shoes and he is struggling to come up with the proof. In addition, the FL have expressed concern that Samuelson has been observed wearing odd socks on several occasions and Wyness has openly worn brown shoes with black trousers.

Do we really want these type of people associated with our great club ?
