My son says all this bollocks about being a striker and always being a Villa fan makes him more likely to be Deadly in a black wig.
I thought something similar. My bullshitometer was going into overdrive.

Normal things don't happen to us, do they?

They don't, James. I'm still trying to get my head around what's going on. A clearer understanding of Recon would help, hopefully Pat Mc can shed some light on our new owner. From what I understand, apart from being far more qualified, he also appears to be far more wealthy than the Hong Kong hairdresser down the road.

I'm extremely happy that he intends to keep us at Villa Park. Exciting times (I think).

Think I need a beer to let this all sink in.

I'm more than a little uneasy about this.

Things have been very bad and yes, thus could also turn out to be chaos. However, it's unlikely to be dull, so let's enjoy the ride

I am skeptical. Probably a step up from Randy, just, but still, I am not feeling great about this.

That's what we said about Sherwood - turned out we'd got on the rollercoaster before it had finished being built.

At least we have got the club sold quickly once the season finished. Gives us time to appoint a manager, tonight apparently, and then get the playing staff sorted over the next 3 months.

Im excited but then again it doesnt take much

I keep thinking about how much I was taken in by Lerner when he took over ( chanting "USA, USA" at the Emirates, for chrissakes) so I'm erring to caution over this news. Once bitten and all that shit.....

It really does appear that no one knows who the fk he is or how much he is worth.

I am scared.

Serious question- if the sell price was the reported £60m has Lerner written off the £200m invested by him over the period of his tenure?

The Recon Group are worth $42 billion according to credit reference agency.  I credit checked them at work.

To quote Deb from Dexter..."holy frankenfucks"..

I am struggling to find anything out about this company - I have found a Recon Group in the States that deal in reverse logistics and I think I saw something mentioned about smart transport.  I need to pull an Experian off and find out more.

I think there's a load of debt being taken on also, maybe as much as £100m.
