I don't think we will struggle whether there is a take over or not. We are showing an ambition to bring in some quality players, while Sherwood with last seasons squad would have had us well clear of 17th in mid-table mediocorty.

And at the moment it looks like we have a sell to buy policy which doesn't look so ambitious to me.

It's way too early in the summer to declare that is our policy. We have sold mainly dead wood, and Delph wrote his exit into his worthless new contract. Let's see how it plays out between now and the end of the window before coming to the conclusion this was indeed the policy.

You're right, but by the same definition that s_h is wrong to make judgements one way on our transfer activity, so is Ads to make one the other way.

It is early days yet.

We've shifted some shit, lost one of our best players, and (rightly or wrongly) seemingly given up on Vlaar.

I don't mind not having Vlaar, but I do worry about us having that extra bit of work to do in replacing him versus the convenience of keeping him, if that makes sense.

Was the same with Cleverly. Wasn't really that bothered about him leaving, but would have possibly opted to keep him even if mostly because it meant we wouldn't have to waste time and money replacing him.

We've got a huge amount of work to do this summer. I think Benteke will go, too, which will leave us with even more work to do.

We've not spent any money thus far (assuming Delph is gone), which, if it suggests anything, suggests that process is ongoing. I really hope it gets wrapped up soon.

I doubt it but with a bit of anger against the club and Delph, will they release any kind of a hint that everything's ok, we know what we're doing, players are on their way, takeover happening etc?

I know the club have to sell if another club match the release clause fee but losing yet another England international is a real pisser, even if we don't think Delph is all that. I hope Sherwood has a few surprises up his sleeve in terms of incoming players.
