Erm, if we are in the midst of a takeover, would we be announcing that we have two new betting partnerships?

Why would that make any difference? The club still has to be run as if no takeover happens.

I'm not arguing the point, honestly, as I don't really get the whole issue. What I have trouble reconciling is that we are potentially being taken over but are still committing the club to longish term partnerships that a new owner might wish to blow out of the water by using their own contacts, once they purchase the football club. To then end the agreements could lead to negative publicity, not as if a mega rich owner would be too bothered of course.  I am probably totally wrong but I had presumed that, if we are selling the club, we wouldn't be making these decisions unless a potential new owner agreed to such a commitment.  Why put new tyres on a car you are getting rid of. I do hope I'm wrong but...

I get that, and at the same time being under offer can not restrict commercial activity.
So if they do not sign deals now for the season ahead then they are potentially giving up revenue streams. These matters (including transfer activity) would be dealt with in the heads of terms which would have been agreed before entering an exclusivity period. Until such time as a sale has happened the Existing Board will/should try to do everything that is best for the club. There is nothing unusual going on here that suggests that the club is not going through a sale process which is what is happening.
Whether this comes to fruition is another matter.

I've really lost track on this, but my general sense is that we are further down the line to being sold than before and I think I believe the stories on the exclusivity period. But I can't really remember what specific info gives me that feeling!

My ITK tells me that we will be informed about the takeover on the day it happens.

Does anyone really think that, when a takeover is just about to go through, the club will be messing around holding meetings to tell the community coaches / casual staff?

Of course they won't.

Most of the staff, the first thing they'll know is when they come into work on Monday morning and see all the chinese or arabic signage everywhere.

Slight aside , Is that Italian super-grass still part of our community team.

Yes, I played football with him last year. He was fucking brilliant, if incredibly greedy.

Nice fella. Simone I think his name is.

And the menu is entirely Halal with the Balti pies and pasties replaced by Mugasgas and Chicken Kabsa.

Other than the sponsors for the kit, the others are only bit-part partners, of which there can be many.  These type of deals are only like advertising for a set period and do not preclude bringing others in, although there may be a limit to the number of a certain type e.g. we now have two betting companies which may be the limit we have agreed to.

We certainly need something to happen.  At the moment it looks inevitable that Vlaar, Delph and Benteke will all leave.  Thats the spine of the team.

We are 100% certainties for relegation as things stand.

Don't forget to take your umbrella with you today, just in case.

17th last season.  Our most experienced defender gone.  Main striker likely to follow in next few days with the captain likely to follow suit.  Cleverley couldn't wait to go either.

So far 1 free transfer with a recent injury record.

Not looking hopeful at all.

No way Randy just shelled out $10m for a midfielder with the club due to be sold in the coming days, right?

I mean really that wouldn't even make sense. That's like putting all new hard wood throughout your house the week before the new buyers check clears.
