If the football style stays the same and we have the same passion from the players I couldn't give a monkeys what is happening with the ownership

No, we need Lerner gone. Some mad decisions over the last few seasons.

How any villa fan could conclude that the ownership is irrelevant after the last few years is extraordinary!!!

But in the past six months or so he has seemingly delegated his authority to Fox who in turn has started to fix, or at least identify, a lot of our problems. Any new guy will probably bring in a few of his own men which'll mean we're back to square one again.

There was an interview with the wealthiest man in China on a BBC business programme on Friday. He was asked about buying a Premiership club and revealed that he had been approached by several. He confirmed that he would be interested but it was down to price.

No specific club was mentioned.

I think I would rather take the situation as it is now with Fox running the show and a bit more transfer funding than take a risk with a new owner

That would be like tossing the coin, I really worry about the sort of owners we could end up with,
I really do not buy into this 'new owner everything will be great' thing, there is more chance of it being incredibly bad

I seem to remember Fox saying a change of manager would be like flipping a coin. Seems to be going well so far...

It does, but it all depends who you get

I don't think Lerner will sell to just anyone. He's made some bad football-related business decisions but I think he has integrity and wants the best for the club.

Lerners decision making and transfer policy since 2010 has nearly relegated us on several occasions. Appointing McLeish/ Lambert? The 'bomb' squad which included N'Zogbia, Hutton? Lambert's 4 year contract? I could go on....

His decision making skills regarding football matters and his dedication to the club are simply diabolical. However, his stubborn asking price is a good tactic to keep unqualified/dangerous potential buyers away. I'm sure he'll sell to another American, which is fine with me if they are fully committed and realize the magnitude of the Premier League. He's not going to sell to someone with a tighter wallet then himself, and I believe Randy truly wants to be remembered positively given his scarred reputation of ownership in the states. I think the Phoenix link will be it, with a a big face at the forefront and multiple investors pumping the money in.

I would think any new owner would gauge the effect people like Fox and Sherwood have had and would seriously consider whether replacements are needed. You don't change things for the sake of it.

Just a couple of things to mention:

- Lambert was the popular choice of the Villa support

- The bomb squad was part of Lambert's strategy to get rid of the high earner's. It was not Lerner's decision

The question of who Lerner sells to not if he sells is the important one...if the only criteria is recouping as much of his investment as possible then a change in ownership may not be necessarily be a good thing. I would like to thing that Lerner would ensure that any sale would include attracting and identifying new owners with a substantial finances available to invest in the squad and infrastructure.

The new FFP restrictions may mean there is a ceiling on what can be spent on players but having the financial power to be competitive in the transfer market enables the manager to bring in the players he wants, and could be the difference to a higher league position and much improved performances on the pitch. Combine that with a stream of youth development and it becomes an exciting prospect.
