Does this new 5bn TV deal make the likes of Villa more desirable to investors? Will we see would be suitors raise heads above the parapet?

Should definitely increase the scrutiny on the likes of Lerner, Ashley, Peace etc....the clubs seemingly happy to tread water, no ambition to invest properly.

As those wags on 5Live just quipped "maybe Aston Villa will find a buyer now!"
Ha-bloody-ha - are we keeping you all entertained?

Lerner deserves to lose every fucking penny and then be sued up the yin-yang by his siblings for misappropriation of trust funds.

His level of incompetence is so staggering it defies any sense of logic. Emperor Nero has two weeks until the Stoke game to sack Lambert and save us and his investment. If he decides to keep plucking his lyre then he gets everything he deserves.

I have said from the very beginning that RL is not overly concerned with the cash. What he is concerned about is his brand. In particular, he wants to be seen as an owner who took over a venerable PL club, and did not jump into the squalid pit dominated by the oil oligarchs. He gave it his best, fighting against the odds versus the Russian variant, before the Premier League colluded in  the Man Citeh (who were already under ownership of a dubious dictator) abomination for their own enrichment.

Post Citeh and MoN,  he has been fairly consistent. Like a mega bank taking a position on a financial instrument, he has bet  on PL for the long haul.  His stop loss position is beyond our wildest pessimism, because he has faith.

We have to hope that he will stick to his guns and not flog us to the equivalent of a vulture hedge fund, which has worked out OK up to a point for Manure and RedScouse, but would royally and leveragedly fuck us up for all time and forevah.

Mega rich Qataris have ruined the World Cup and are now desperate for some good football PR. Buy Aston Villa, buy Premier League safety, buy the best managers, buy the best players and then buy all of the trophies. It's what Citeh did. And Barcelona thrashed them.

All before the introduction of FFP.  Now it's more a case of Buy Aston Villa, buy Premier League safety, buy good managers, buy good players and then buy a Europa League spot and the tantalising proposition of Thursday night games in some far flung corner of Eastern Europe.

I think the Lerners ,will not sell,if we stay up,with the new tv deal coming up ,they maymake some money, if they sell they will only lose money.
