I read somewhere yesterday that Cowans had told somebody the transfer budget last season was only 10m and its even less now. Obviously this could be here say but I think its pretty obvious that he's desperate to get out and other than the absolute day to day bare minimum he's not putting anything else in, gambling everything on selling in the next 6-9 months whilst we are  still a PL club . Makes perfect sense when you think about the ineptness of most of Randy's business decisions regarding villa over many months

Didn't we spend more than £10m last summer?

I just can't see Lescott coming to the Villa under the current circumstances. I don't think he will be short of offers.

That was my initial thought, but the more I think about it, the fewer clubs I think will be interested. Everton would be the most obvious competitors, but Lescott would go there probably as fourth choice, behind Jagielka, Distin and Stones. If he wants to play regular football I would imagine that his choices will be between us and the newly promoted teams.

West Ham want Lescott as do beskitas. Maybe someone like Newcastle would come in for him.

I really don't see him ending up here.

Yes but it all serves Lambert well when looking for a new job.

We spent £10m ish on Okore and Kozak. Must have got Bacuna, Steer, Luna, Tonev and Helenius for nothing.

He hasn't pumped his money in the last 12 months, I'm led to believe that last season we will post a profit.

He has, though.

He wrote off another £90m of loans as recently as January this year. I doubt we'll be anywhere near posting a profit this year, and even if we are, it won't be anything like the amount of money he's written off.

West Ham are about as appealing as us at the moment. Effectively just trying to stay-up before moving into the Olympic Stadium. Same with Newcastle to be honest. They're in as much limbo as us, just with a bigger cock as a manager. I guess it may just come down to whether he'd rather move back to The Midlands than to Turkey, in which case I think we're in with a shout.

W

Pretty good movie that.

Great hotel too.

That post reminds me of that story that, when the Clinton administration were leaving the White House in the transition to George W Bush, they went around and removed the "W" key from all the keyboards. Probably apocryphal but ace, nonetheless.

See, I don't get this, why do we owe him money? It's his club, 100%, if he wanted to spend £100m on Nicky Shorey, Marlon Harewood and Emile Heskey without questioning it then more fool him.

We will be posting a profit for 2013/14.

I don't think it was apocryphal, Paulie: Clinton Transition Left $15,000 Damage, GAO Says

Morning geezers,

Some on here need to relax a little.

Buying a football club is a massive job full of potential hurdles, obstacles and road blocks.

Things don't always go smoothly.

Just settle down. Good times round the corner.
