Serious question, what is the TBAR response to this. Although wrong somebody did think that they knew something. Are they still insisting that something is happening or will happen, or are the deathly quiet, too?

Who cares? They just wound themselves up on this takeover, when really they knew nothing (like J. Snow)....maybe someone thought they did initially but that boat has sailed.

They have zero credibility Peter in discussing takeovers. They shot their load very early before they even had time to unbuckle the belt on their trousers.

If you wanted to know what was being said on TBAR, you should have gone on their site and had a look. Instead, we're back to having a pop at them again. I remember Mr. Woodhall getting very irritated a few weeks back when someone mentioned something being discussed on that site (something about advertising rates was brought up) and the other poster was took to task over how long it had been since he last visited/posted on here. But it's ok if you are having a dig, like in one of the options on the poll at the top of the page for example.
I like coming on here, I really do, but the whole TBAR baiting is getting a bit old now.
Rant over, I don't want to start any arguments and  I won't be responding to any replies to this so please don't come back at me with "what about when they said......? I DON'T CARE!! I rarely go on there and am only commenting on here because this is the site I visit regularly and I want it to keep to the high standards I am used to.

I think if peter w starts a post with the words 'serious question' we have to accept he is asking a serious question. I also think that if he throws in a dig at another forum it is a joke and not the end of the world. TBAR seem obsessed with 'Mr Woodhall'. I can officially confirm that Mr Woodhall is a fictional character and all the other mods take turns on a weekly basis to be the mythical Mr Woodhall. Trust me, I'm ITK.

No, not having a dig which I didn't do when the tit-for-tat toing and froing was going on a couple of months ago. As I said someone thought they did know something so they must have a reason behind it not happening. Have they been told they were mistaken and if so no-one anywhere knows anything. Which is frustrating. If they were told it was happening but now isn't then I think that is interesting to know for those of us who are only interested to what's going on rather than who is saying it.

Yes I could go to TBAR but as there are people on here also visit there I thought it would be easier on a discussion thread for someone to tell me. As it is I have looked. I can't see too much but as I don't like the look of the forum I didn't stay too long. Not having a dig just not to my tastes.

It's a strange silence coming out of the club at the moment. It's a an important time to get people to buy season tickets etc but there has been nothing for a while i.e. PR to hang on to....is there something going on? Clutching at straws...

If there was something going on, we wouldn't have signed Senderos, Cole and Richardson.

What peter w said was so far off being a dig, making that post quite an overreaction. The mere mentioning of a site doesn't mean an insult is taking place. There have been many an occasion you could have wheeled out that post, but this wasn't one of them.

TBAR. What a bunch of c...

off course it is entirely conceivable that they were three experienced players available on a free which is why we brought them in, irrespective of whether the club is for sale or not. Just saying like.

Well the 1st of August came and went......

I think we'll be saying the same of this season.

Yep.  To be honest, after a couple of months of hoping for a takeover and a reinvigoration of the club, I'm now preparing myself for a pretty torturous season ahead.

I've never not looked forward to a season starting as I am this one.

Usually at about this time I'm thinking, ''great 2 weeks and the footballs back.''  This year it's ''oh shit, 2 weeks and the footballs back.''

If I'm honest, my falling out of love with football is nearly complete.  It's just that the Villa have meant so much in my life, growing up, focal points etc that keeps me in any way interested.

That will always be the case but Jesus wept, a combination of Sky 4 wankfests and Lerner has done his best to knock it out of me.

Same here. I was relieved when we avoided the drop and the season ended. Now I just feel sick at what probably faces us again.

I still refuse to believe that there is no new owner on the horizon, Lerner has done a lot of things wrong but as things stand we would be favourites for relegation and he would be aware that if that did happen there would be no chance of him getting decent money for us.
