presumably we're talking Robert Kraft the Canadian guy? He has been linked before by TBAR ITK's I think.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Kraft

Owner of the New England Patriots and New England Revolution in MLS. Don't know how good the latter are, but the Patriots seem fairly well run considering they win loads.

Google him and us, and you get reports linking him to a takeover in 2004.

I again salute your optimism TV and hope you're right. All I can see at the moment is that we're up for sale without a buyer and have a squad that is desperately short of the required quality.

That we are short of quality there is no doubt. I just believe that any new owner buying a PL football team, for the money they will need to shell out has to be serious about why they are buying us. That is not just to float along. That's exactly what Randy did when he bought us, but ultimately could not maintain it.

The new group will know that they will want a return on some of their investment as soon as possible, but to do so in football you have invest significantly up front. If you think about it the new group will need to essentially commit to 1/2bn in acquisition fees, player purchases and wages over the next few years. For me Randy putting us up for sale puts us back to the position we were in when he bought us which is naturally disappointing. We just need to hope that the irresponsible spending of the current regime are not repeated by the new ones.

I think we are exactly where the statement says we are
put up for sale as from today officially,

you can think and dream we are well down the road to a sale but that's all speculation, and I'm fucking fed up of that, so I'm going with whats been said

Randy has grown less and less interested over the last couple of years for whatever reason it doesn't matter anymore,
and now thinks its best to pull out and sell,
he might have had some prelim talks but essentially nothing is 'well down the road' and we might have a few weeks even months before we know anything

when you put your house on the market you might get a buyer the next day, it might take longer, same as the club we just don't know

if it goes to the start of the season with littte to no investment and Lambert still in charge, and I dont discount that happening at all, in fact I reckon its a good posibility
then its going to be a very hard season,
we will need to be right behind Lambert and the team every game to try and keep afloat in the prem league until its all gets sorted

sort of backs to the wall together, could actually be quite interesting

People are questioning why we had the statement last month and then this one today. I do wonder how much certain sites launching with ITK fanfares and then the press reporting these as facts led to last months statement?

What is the TBAR reaction to the above news release?

Akin to the scene in Parenthood when the clown turns up drunk to the party.

Link please (to the pertinent Parenthood scene, not TBAR).

Sorry but the clown doesn't turn up drunk. They send a stripper by mistake. Meanwhile, the clown gets half beaten to death in a bar across town.

I'm pretty sure the scene referred to appears in 'Uncle Buck'.

My fuzzy memory tells me that Steve Martin hired a clown for his son's party who turns up bladdered. This causes lots of hysterics and despiar from te kids, so Steve Martin dresses up as a cowboy and they have the best party ever?

And the only non-Republican we've been linked with. I'll have this guy - it would be nice not to be owned by the backers of pure lunacy.

Just heard Pepe Mel has left West Brom.

Now, that loud ITK bloke on twitter, Indykaila: https://twitter.com/indykaila

said this this morning:

indykaila News ‏@indykaila  2h
@mark_rollason @Sie_the_donkey Foster is gone. Mel as well...

He also said this:

indykaila News ‏@indykaila  4h
Exclusive: Kraft group have submitted a bid for Aston Villa football club. Unconfirmed price is £180 million. Lambert to lose job. #AVFC

Kraft hay? Free dairy milk bars on your way into the ground?

Kraft?
I wish people would stop spreading rumours.

I fear this could seal relegation next season ......

If no buyer there currently thats the unknown then .........

Will take min 3 months to seal a deal being realistic meaning no investment no change of manager etc etc

I think we all know where this would leave us ......

You don't announce a club is for sale if it's already been sold. I think Randy out of desperation now having tried to sell privately for probably 18 months or so has now had to go public and widen the net. Desperate stuff really.
