By the way, not sure if it was picked up on the match thread or elsewhere, but Hoolahan not celebrating his goal was quite interesting.

A most satisfactory end to the weekend. I had already started lining up managers names in the hat to replace Lambert after we conceded but Benteke dug us out of trouble yet again. The 20 minute spell at the end of the first half was magnificent and it shows what this team can do when they get the ball down and pass it. In the second half we went back into contain mode and started hoofing the ball at every opportunity again. I don't think it was a bad decision to hold what we have but it wasn't half boring without the full-backs crossing the half way line. The performance really begs the questions "Why can't you play with the ball on the floor every week" and "Why do we get 5 crap performances in a row before you decide to play to like that". However I can't complain when we do play like that, it is bloody awesome to watch. Great result. Now to watch it on MOTD again!
I was so anxious today I didn't even really enjoy the game. God knows it's long enough since I've seen us score four goals. But there it is. Didn't relax till the whistle went.

Again not a factor in the game, but I thought there was a pretty clear handball in the box towards the end of the game (think it was their RB) from a shot by Gabby. Not a chance - if his hands had been any closer to his torso then they've have been growing directly out of his chest.

Third goal kind of reminded me of THAT goal against Manure in 95. And did anyone see that knobber Norwich fan? He walked past me on Witton Lane and really did look a bellend. I also saw a disturbing number of adults wearing half and half scarfs for today's game. It's times like that i'm glad i'm not allowed to carry a gun, who the fuck buys a half Villa half Norwich scarf?
