The last couple of hundred metres of today’s stage was brutally steep.

Spoiler for Hiden:
Tough on Kamna, but brilliant by Pog

Big changes in the last stage. Pog cracked on first mountain stage.

After the race Wout gave his stage green jersey to a brit guy who helped him blow up his tubeless tire so he could cycle down to the team coaches.

That was a brilliant stage, best year this year. What a grueling climb.

That win came from nowhere. I don't think anyone predicted him to win.

For the highlight followers I will hide the winner.

Spoiler for Hiden:
Pidcock winner with Froome third.

Only two proper mountain stages left.
This could go to the time trial on the penultimate day.

What's with the cans of Fanta after each stage? Other than sponsoring, is there a nutritional reason? Is it special Fanta?

Things I love about living in semi rural Cheshire- nice quiet country roads with fuck all traffic on.

Things I don’t love about living in semi rural Cheshire - said quiet country roads being covered in cow shit whilst Farmer Giles moves his cows from pasture to pasture.

My lovely bike covered in shite and needing a bloody massive clean.

Pogachar was sadly lacking today, so it looks like it is Vingegaard's to lose.

I wouldn’t say that Pog is lacking, is more that Ving is the better rider this year and has better support riders

The support riders bit definitely. Having Roglic but mainly Wout around. TBH Wout deserves third place and it is his to give up as I expect Thomas to slide out in the TT. He hasn't come off this tour (I believe) so is due one. Although his self sabotage with the Gilet on the prologue might be the new thing instead. I've only just realised there is no TTT this year. Fad that has been discontinued or another reason?

Correct. Pog crashed and had no team support.  There really is nothing between the two - they are both exceptional.   They are both brilliant.  Loved seeing Ving wait for Pog when he crashed. He didn’t have to that.   The iTT on Saturday will be interesting.  One of the best Tours ever.

Jumbo as a whole team have been unreal, to lose roglic & Kruswijk and still dominate is special.  Great reward for Laporte today, think the sprint teams thought it was open for them when Van Aert pulled off in last 3km but didn’t react well to Laporte just riding away into sunset.  Some of those sprinters like Ewan will have had a pretty pointless tour if they don’t get anything on Sunday.
