Well done Jon. Impressive you're still competing at the age of 70.3 mate. ;)

Great news Jon and even better news with the sponsorship. Good luck for the season, I hope it is pain and injury free for you.

Well done Jon excellent news. Good luck for the season and the tech and gear you’ll get access to. Dead jel as the kids say….

Just had email confirmation I've been offered a place on a race team for the 2022 season as an Ironman 70.3 age grouper, 5 sponsors including Specialized, Wahoo & Precision Hydration. Discounts are us so let me know if you want a new bike or bike computer.

Is that why your Strava output has blown up recently?

What kind of discounts on Specsh?

Partly, I’ve just had a couple of months off on advice from my coach and started a 16 week plan to Oceanside in April.

40% off a new S-Works Shiv, not sure about other frames or bikes at the moment.

Hefty discount.

Well if similar on the lower priced other bikes I might be interesting in Aethos or Tarmac Pro versions. 56/58 I suspect (right on the cusp but long torso and short legs).

Just as a matter of interest Jon do you do any training at all during your 2 months off like light runs or bikes?

I may be interested in a bike Jon as I still haven't had my Orro delivered, ordered over 15 months ago!

I know there is a components shortage but 15 months ago does seem a pisstake. I looked at the Orro in the summer along with a Giant and decided against them because no guarantees on any turning up.

Yep bike is ready the only bit we’re waiting for is the group set. It’s bloody annoying and frustrating.

All I did was strength and conditioning with a lot of core work, no running or riding at all. Need to give tendons and joints a proper rest. I actually feel much better for it which was the whole idea.

Need to speak to the coaches and find out what the deal is with Specialized as they are the main sponsor I think they’ll want me on a Shiv soon, can’t see any other discounted bikes or frames via my login just now but I’m sure there will be deals to be done.

TBH the bike would be nice, especially with that type of discount. However I'm in no rush for one at the moment, especially as my mileage has dropped the last couple of years.

Pidcock World Champion in Cyclo Cross

Would have been interesting if Wout and / or MvdP was there but he still had a strong field to beat.

Edit: Forgot to add that Zoe won the Junior Worlds the day before

Athlete of the year for me. Destroyed that field.
