Its devastating for G, but again some younger riders have the chance to step up!

Jumbo Visma as well. I reckon there's a real risk this race doesn't make the finish.

I was surprised when MS continued when Yates came down with it early on in the race. He would have been mixing with the team in the "bubble", sitting on the coach, cucling and chatting right next to them.

From other stories, the Giro organisers and the Italians in general don't seem to be as well organised in protecting the teams etc with some riders stating that they are in hotels with breakfast buffets with public guests and other teams.

Froome was only ever going as a domestique, part of his programme to try to retain full fitness, before leaving to Israel Start Up Nation.

Presumably Ineos do not think he will be a major threat there next year.

Excuse the stupid question but why are the Giro and Vuelta overlapping? Is it simply a case of having to get both done after the Tour before it gets too cold in the mountains?

It's the viability of the routes due to weather, did you see the Stelvio stage, snow all over the place and probably only a few days away from the road being closed until spring & the fact the UCI wanted all 3 of the grand tours to go ahead in the remaining 3 months of the year so they had to overlap.

No, just saw them both on the news yesterday and was surprised given the prestige of the Giro and Vuelta.

Yep, it's far from ideal but given the Summer was written off for obvious reasons it was a case of either cutting the races very short (the Vuelta already has been cut short due to travel restrictions) or overlapping them.

Yesterday was just awesome at the Giro.  And now on the verge of a grand tour win for a Brit who shouldn’t be in the running.   Yet hardly a mention of it in the media.  Disappointing.

1 second, 1 watt, 1 pedal revolution, 1 dead spot in a pedal stroke between 2 riders, amazing final day coming up, 16 kms of pain and suffering.
