How about Mr. T. Francis?

Do not utter his name. He should remain Nameless.

With Lambert you can pretty much guarantee that just as you begin to get some idea that you think the penny has dropped he will manage to achieve a string of results that take you back to the knowledge that it is all guesswork.

I will be delighted if he gets the team playing and winning.

Another three years of rebuilding and getting players off the wage bill would surely ensue.

Why would it? No need to rebuild, we just need to add some quality players in certain positions. Doubt the wage bill would be that high either.

I always voted for PL to stay for the simple reason that I had hardly ever seen him put his strongest team on the pitch. Now we are close to that happening and you can see the strong spine to the team.

Clearly, there is a need to replace Delph and to strengthen in forward areas but it's precisely Lambert's spending record at the medium-price level that suggests to me that he might be able to do this.

I'm hypothesising that whoever would come in would do so with their own ideas and needs, so they might not see the players we have in the same way as Lambert does. So a new manager might decide to ship out players and bring others in. It doesn't need to happen, but it does sometimes when managers change.

I'm fickle.

Judging by the swing in the poll numbers you're not the only one.

Maybe O'Leary had a point. For me, a leopard don't change it's spots. If you're close to clueless for over two years, probability says you're winging it. It's just a matter of time. Saying that, the only way Lambert will be sacked is if he relegates us, assuming the apathy continues amongst the Villa faithful.

As Brian Green rightly pointed out, Lambert's greatest attibute is he isn't McLeish. We go again..

It'd be a shame to think that somebody was absolutely incapable of improving. You never know, it might happen.

Most outsiders would probably agree that Moyes left Everton better than he found it though during those 10 years there were plenty of low moments. Will we remember passionately the low moments if the club was solid and he had found a way to improve as a manager?

The thing is I don't think he can leave the club in a better shape unless there is a change of owner, and then he won't be around for there for the improvement part. I think he's merely another part of the club which isn't quite up to standard at the moment.

See I think he can. He just needs to have a plan and stick to it. Since he's been there is no identity to who we are as a club. Not all his fault off course but has played a big part in that. If he can commit at least to a style of play and bringing in certain types of player then we can improve. The constant chopping and changes at the club prior to his arrival, and the volatility of much of his tenure has really been a big factor in what we are today. That has to change.

I'm not fickle ... I still want him gone. Even with the lack of first team players he's had to deal with at times, i simply cannot accept how we have played for the majority of his tenure. I'm obviously chuffed at the last few games, but he's got a hell of a lot to do still to convince me.

The apathy of the Villa faithful has nothing to do with it. He will not be sacked while RL is is charge.

We have it on record that RL told PL that this would be the toughest job he had ever had, and probably would ever have. He is dug in deep and values his reputation (cynics would say brand) for being resolute and principled far beyond the concerns of Villa fans, which he probably sees as ephemeral and transitory, if not fickle.

The lack of reaction to the season ticket sales figures tells you everything you would ever want to know, if you were interested in knowing it.

Most thinking Villa fans are now hoping we can survive a sale without going drastically backwards, and are loath to upset the applecart unduly.

In pretty much any profession any one with his record of failure and under achievement would have lost their job. There is a good reason for this being the case.  I want him gone because I don't believe he is a good at his job.
