Klopp ain't gonna be at Dortmund much longer. Bottom of the Bundesliga. We should go for him.

People will scoff, but you're absolutely right and he appears to be crazy enough to take it on.

Judging by a youtube clip Klopp would be amusing.

He will apply for a number of Premiership jobs.   He will have to smarten himself up though.   I can see the red top back page headline now.   Klopp Clip.

Are they desperate enough to consider a swap for their former midfield general?

Quote
Paul Lambert has vowed to ‘find a solution’ and end Villa’s winless run.

The claret and blues put in their best performance of the season but were still unable to secure three points after late drama at Turf Moor.

Joe Cole opened the scoring only for Danny Ings to level from the penalty spot late on and Villa were somehow left clinging onto a point as the clock ran down.

That frustrated the travelling fans who turned on the boss late on despite passionately backing their side before.

Admitting that the chants of ‘We want Lambert out’ were not pleasant to hear, the boss said:

“The whole game they were unbelievable then you lose the goal and that’s what can happen.

“That’s football. It’s sport.

“You don’t like it and it’s not nice to hear, but it’s sport. And football is a game.

“You have to dust yourself down and go for it again.

“That was a game that got away from us. It was the best we have played in a few weeks.

“I thought we should have been two or three up at half time.

“Some of the football we played was outstanding.

“Then in the last few minutes Burnley put us on the back foot and we could have lost it.

“That would have been an absolute travesty.

“For most of the game we played really well.

“I think in terms of flowing football, we were excellent,

“The movement was great and I wish Joe Cole was five years younger but I couldn’t have afforded him!

“He was fantastic, I knew he’d tire, but he was great.”

Lambert remained upbeat after the game and remained in good spirits despite the winless run extending.

Three draws in the last three games has slighted lifted spirits but the fans are still frustrated with the results.

“Those guys pay their money,” said Lambert.

“I know this football club is huge and expectancy levels are huge.

“We’re not matching those levels so it’s normal (to react like that).

“I will do the best I can to find the solution.

“We’re sitting joint 13th I think, there’s miles to go in the table.

“We had six players out but Clark and Okore carried on where they left off even though Jores gave away the penalty.

“When we get players back from injury lets see what happens in the end.”

Meanwhile Sean Dyche believes that Villa are still a team who are fighting despite their recent form.

He said: “They are certainly not a team that is broken that's for sure. There is a belief there.

“I thought they were very strong first half and I spoke to my players about that.

“I saw them on Monday and before that, there is certainly no lack of energy and belief of what they are doing.

“After a good start, maybe they have lacked a cutting edge like us in recent time.

“As the game went on they looked nervous, and were on the ropes but generally they looked like a good side.”

You know, that's really quite a good reaction. Many managers would be a lot more defensive and self-pitying than that.

He is saying what he thinks will keep him in his job. A good reaction would be to hold his hands up and admit he is completely out of his depth.

I wonder if the reason we struggle (even more than usual)  from around 70 minutes and slowly collapse back towards our own penalty area has anything to do with the utterly brainless way we approach the game.

Look at the way someone like Weimann goes around like a headless chicken at 100mph and then is blowing out of his arse by 65-70 minutes. I'm sure if he could be taught how to judge when to make the lung bursting runs because that's when it's worth it, he'd look a lot better and still be productive in the 95th minute. See also most of the midfield, regardless of who's in there.

I can't remember if it was Guardiola or Iniesta that spoke about resting with the ball.  If you've got it and can keep probing without exerting yourself too much, whilst making the opposition do the running around it's them that fall apart towards the end.  This is what's being done to us time and again because we either can't or refuse to keep hold of the ball.

This sitting back and hitting on the break is OK if you do it a few times in a match, but as has been said how many times on here, as your one and only tactic (hope) you're going to get tired pretty quickly if you're the ones doing all the chasing.  Yet another reason why consistently ending up at 30-35% possession is a bad idea.

Every now and again, fair enough, then you'd just say it's a team that can  dig in and graft their way to points if they have to.

The way we do it, it's just shit and amateurish.

Whilst I agree with you, he's obviously not going to do that, is he? What manager ever does, or has?

Does anyone else find themselves dying for the time when we'll stop hearing the word "counter attacking" used about us all the fucking time?

Can't somebody at the club, anybody, just have a quiet word with Lambert and say: "Paul, for the love of our good hot Christ, stop saying 'dust ourselves off and go again' in interviews."

Or when we know we've been utter shite but Lambert still insists we've been "excellent" with "plenty of goals in the team".

Keegan? Yes just responding to the original "good reaction " point.

Pity he's not told anybody where the hell he's hidden them, because nobody within a 100 miles of the first team squad has got the foggiest idea where he's put them.
