Lerner will not sack Lambert for financial reasons. The one hope we have, albeit a small one, is that Lambert, should we lose 4-0 or a score of that magnitude decides we don't go again and resigns. Roy Keane might just stop on to see what Lerner will do or he might have had enough. He doesn't appear to be making a difference at the moment.

Its a mess and it might just get messier.

If we lose tomorrow I have a strong feeling that early next week there will be a job vacancy at Villa Park.
I reckon it'll be by 'mutual agreement' with all the usual guff about 'the best interests of the club' being spouted.
I wonder how much it would cost to pay him off? Ten million? And to think our chairman is meant to be trying to sell. Its no wonder Lambert doesn't fear the sack. In his shoes I'd positively relish it.
I would imagine there is a clause in that contract that sets a 'reasonable' amount of compensation, nowhere near £10m.

Fuck all should just about cover it !

This is Randy Lerner we are talking about.

He can have £1m for every point we've earned since he signed the contract.

Why would he fear the sack when he will get £x million. If it were you and I we would get sweet FA.

Give the buffoon a one way ticket to Motherwell.  That'll learn him.

I think 9 or 10 matches without a win will see Lambert moved out. I'm essentially of the view that if we continue to lose matches up to GW 13 Burnley  & GW14 Crystal Palace then there is the more than reasonable decision to call time on his Villa management .

There must be a tipping point, but for the life of me I wouldn't dare guess where it is

We could have a 'guess the tipping point' game. Not sure what the prize would be though!?

My guess will be Dec 7th Home to Leicester!

If we lose it'll be Southampton. Lower crowd therefore everyone will have an opinion, on TV, only match so it'll be the main story everywhere.

Lose the next two and then surely were he to lose against Burnley, that has to be all she wrote? It would just have to.

How much does it cost to lose your Premier League status?

There would be an enormous hit on the TV revenue and undoubtedly gate receipts and season ticket sales.
It would cost a lot initially but the wage trimming needed would be very substantial because we'd no longer be self sufficient and would possibly end up getting in trouble with the FFP rules. Going down I could see us losing up to a dozen player in the space of a couple of windows to be honest.
How we cope in rebuilding beyond that I wouldn't like to guess. It would be extremely difficult for us to come straight back up, that's for sure.

Knowing Randy, if there's a tipping point it will be Burnley at home.

I'm not ashamed to say it, I'd take a loss tomorrow if it got him the boot
