It's got to be Marcelo Bielsa for me. We have some huge disadvantages, we can't compete financially, we have a poor squad, low morale as a club, so our best bet is do something completely out of left field and employ a batshit crazy manager with totally different methods and see what happens. Somebody like him would completely galvanize the club immediately.

If not him then the Boca Juniors manager who is the spitting image of Larry David. That would be pretty, pretty, pretty good.
Bielsa would be really interesting, at the very least. Wonder if he has much English?

Bielsa for me too, especially if he could find a young coach to groom into a future manager so he could become the director of football.  Martinez and Guardiola have both studied Bielsa and talk about him as being some sort of visionary so he must have something pretty special about him.  (Martinez went to every Chile game and training session during the 2010 world cup and Guardiold says he is the best coacghin the world)

The fact he is bat-shit mental probably explains why any progress cannot be maintained and equally why we might have a chance of getting him.  He's also unemployed.

Just had a look at his Wikipedia page. Sign him up! It certainly wouldn't be boring.

So Norwich have sacked Hughton, so it's pretty much only us clinging onto our manager now.

That's a pretty risky move.

Agreed. I don't think we'll go down. But if we ditched Lambert -now- I might revisit that.

I don't think we'll go down given either scenario. This season.

I'd say the same.

There is a danger that blind panic could set in (outside of our recent defensive performances, where it seems to have become the norm again).

It just sends out all the wrong signals at the worst possible time.

Plus it's unlikely we'd get a top class coach or manager in April. It would invariably be a caretaker, and it would be too big a stress for someone with little/ no management experience before.

It would also look odd to the outside world if we ditch the manager when we sit (somehow) in 13th. We know that doesn't tell the story.

Hell, Lambert might even make it easy for us and walk in the summer. Can't be much fun watching his side get booed off just about every fortnight. I'm sure he's pig sick of it too.

But it's his job to get his team playing well enough not to be booed off every fortnight. He has control over that.

When was the last time a manager actually resigned? No one does the decent thing anymore, they stick around for the sack and a nice fat payout.

Exactly. No one ever quits these days. Would love him to walk.
Sacking him wouldn't cost much though as he's only got 12 months left anyhow

I hope Lambert is given more time.

But if he left how about Unai Emery as his replacement?

I just can't see there's any way that RL will sack him and even if he does, who will come knowing they have Lambert's shit squad and peanuts to spend upgrading it? Sorry, but I can't see a simple way out of this mess.
