I honestly wonder if Mr Fox truly understood what a fucking shit storm he was walking into

Of course he did. He probably hoped it couldn't get as bad as this, but almost certainly, the hiring and firing of managers won't be in his remit and control.

What you're suggesting is that a CEO has no control over the company he's running. I just don't see it. Yes, he may have to run it through Lerner first, that much is obvious as he's the owner but I still believe he has sufficient say to declare to Lerner we need to replace the manager and he's drawn up a plan to find a replacement.

I'm pretty sure Faulkner tried that...

He may be CEO but in football the club manager is a very senior position too.

My gut us that Lerner controls it.

Why can't a journo ask Lambert about the current coaching set up? I'd honestly like to know if he is happy to go it alone or if he has any plans to get someone in.

Fox already answered it. They feel in no rush and are aiming for "summer" to get in an assistant manager.

It is bizarre how unconcerned they seem.

Truth.

That struck me too, watching that interview.

Totally laid back about it. Building a team around "Paul" to help him, and doing it really slowly, while in the meantime we rack up the world's largest collection of records for shitness and sink further towards the trap door.

All the time in the world.

For some reason I think he will go if we lose at Hull.  Probably wrong.

They do seem oblivious as to how the Premier League relegation structure works. Maybe they've reasoned that, as we haven't been demoted for our prolonged period of remarkably persistent shitness, it's actually impossible for us to go down. It's a decent inference.

Maybe there isn't the financial impact there was once.  I mean didn't Cardiff get £60m for finishing bottom?  Maybe that's why they don't appear concerned.

What you're saying is that Tom Fox is a bloody puppet, basically Basil fuckin' Brush? I really hope you're so wrong.

Hull's next game is at Man City so can see our game with them the following Tuesday being loser gets sacked. Unless one or both of them have already got the bullet.

I think that would only be the case if we won. It's an extraordinary thing to contemplate, but Lambert really isn't going anywhere.

Sorry Monty, maybe I'm missing something but are we really the most stupid club in the league?

On balance, I would have to say yes, yes we are.

I agree and it would probably be counter productive to do it now. There isn't anyone at the club qualified to step in if we do slot him and there are no obvious candidates to come in straight away. We just have to hope that we can limp over the line and that common sense prevails once the season finishes, as that seems to have been in short supply over recent years I cannot say that I am filled with confidence.

He wont get sacked. Just moved upstairs at the end of the season, relegation or not.
