The very high wage to turnover ratio up until recently, presumably.

I was back in Brum, over the Christmas period and was having a catch up with my old drinking buddies in the Yenton. Their opinion about Lambert was completely different to mine. These are proper hardcore Villa fans who are season ticket holders, never miss a match home and away types. They were, to a man, of the opinion that Lambert is nothing short of a miracle worker and the real culprit is Lerner. I made the comment that our football is so negative and dull, they were quite shocked that I'd actually made that statement,  pretty much along the lines of well what do you expect him to do with the budget he's given year in year out? I'll hold my hands up and say that I've wanted him gone since the Bradford debacle, but is the real culprit here not Paul Lambert, but Randy Lerner? Is Lambert a miracle worker who given the sort of transfer budget that MON had could do a good job for us, or is he a chancer? It's the bloody negative record breaking shite that makes me think he's out of his depth. Sadly,  I think we're stuck with him for the foreseeable future.  Relegation included.

Rico, sounds like they were on the lash and getting sentimental.

How the hell does he get 17 votes in favour of him staying? Some people are so easily pleased.

Lets be realistic ....Lambert goes but who do we bring in? Who would actually wish to come to come to Villa ...remember club up for sale, little funds available etc etc

That's what reasonable people do when the information they have availiable to them changes the conclusions they draw.

That Benteke goal saved him a LOT of grief. It was building up throughout that second half and each time "We want Lambert out" was sung it was getting louder.

When The Holte End start pretending to score a goal at home to Blackpool, you know it isn't going well.

What frightens me more than Lambert staying is who they would get in, can any of you honestly trust them to make a good decision?

The only thing I might say regarding Benteke saving Lambert, which is probably what he did is that it was also good to see him doing what he is paid to do. I know in recent weeks our chances have been few and far between but when we have had them none of the team including Benteke have taken them. The players are part of the issue also.
