It would be nice if we could chalk 5 or 6 goals up in these 2 home games.

The extra possession we are enjoying should give us a platform to create more, but we need to be a bit cuter in our options. Weimann and Gabby are not creative players.

I watched the entirety of the Sunderland - Hull match today (don't ask), and Sunderland were awful.

We're going to have to start winning more games pretty soon, and that is going to require the scoring of more goals. If we carry on to largely fail on both counts, then he has got to go.

I agree with that.  Their main assets are a combination of pace, power and hard work.  You'd think that dropping one and having some more guile on the pitch would see us improve a fair amount.  Grelish is possibly the man for the job although ideally we'll sign someone in january.

A blessing maybe as he will have to try someone else now.
I'd like to see Robinson get a game .

Slight deviation here, but I was just wondering re Lambert and how there often seems to be a difference between how "outsiders" view him (particularly the media) and how we do, and then started thinking about how Roberto Martinez is generally seen as doing a good job adding a bit of flair to Everton, so found myself looking at one of their forums.

This is interesting, their match thread from today, some massive discontent there.

It is always interesting how things look different from the outside.

Was also interested in that forum to find a general agreement that Barry was brilliant for them last season but this season looks "finished". Given how much the Barry deal was going to cost us if we wanted to take him, maybe that turned out for the best?

Fuck's sake, they even have a dig at us on there. What is it with Everton fans and Villa?

Ha ha! We must have run over their cat. I think it's because we've won more including ze big one and they always assume that they'd have won it themselves if it wasn't for the ban.

Maybe but they'll be no walkover.

Since they got annihilated 8 nil at Southampton there away results have been:

Palace 1 Sunderland 3
Leicester 0 Sunderland 0
Liverpool 0 Sunderland 0
Newcastle 0 Sunderland 1

So they're on a nice run away from home and don't concede many. Last year they came and got a comfortable 0-0.

Think we're more likely to beat Palace.

In response to Paulie's post on Martinez it is completely natural for those who follow a club closely, live and die by it to be most critical. When looking at other clubs what we never pay attention to is the detail and the journey. In a years time if Lambert has us playing good football and we are starting to look a really decent side then other fans whose clubs aren't doing ao well will be pointing at us as the model to be followed. Yet none of them will have the faintest clue on how it got to that point and the misery we were put through as part of that journey.

I still find Everton's obsession with us to be very amusing. And I like how they think they could go down this season. I would piss myself loffing if they did.

Must admit I wasn't aware of any animosity towards us by Everton fans. Does it pre-date the 2008 Ashley Young goal at their place?
