Everton despite people saying they are weakened look pretty strong to me.

3-5-2 for us. Interesting to see Holt and Teke together, could cause a lot of issues.

I know bertrand looks good but not sure he is good enough to play two positions at the same time.

he's very talented. I'd have dropped Benteke and played Bertrand up there as well.

Or 4-3-3, with Clark in midfield?

It's not attacking at all - it's Bacuna/Bertrand at RB and LB with three centre halfs, usual midfield three and just knock-down city up front with Holt/Benteke!

I always shudder when I see Baker in the team, just don't understand it. However come on Villa step up.

I'm not really sure on Holt up front as anything but a sub.

Everton's team does not include an out & out striker.

Exactly - so without the threat of Lukaku, why on earth are we playing three at the back and not the 4-3-3 what played so well at Liverpool?!

I know. I sigh.

It looks like a 5212 to me. Not what I would've gone for but oh well!

Let's see how we do with a proper man up front.

I quite like Weimann in that position. It's the number 10 position, although he plays more of a high energy role, rather than playmaking,  and defensively will try to get at Barry and McCarthy who will sit deep (he did a good job on Gerrard against Liverpool). But he can hit either flank when we attack and also get beyond the front two.

I'm not sure we need to go 3 at the back. In principal, if Bertrand and Bacuna keep on the front foot, it should be alright, but that requires keeping the ball more effectively. In that respect I think Holt could do well. If you play it to his feet, the ball will stick to him.

Benteke will probably pull to the left quite a lot I'd imagine and maybe drop off too to link up play.

Grant Holt is starting for Aston Villa.

He is. Are you going to name the other ten starters, or was there some point you wanted to make?

No chance

I also like wrimann's energy in that position - a bit similar to tommy Johnson

I can't see us keeping the ball much today. I think it will be a case of defend deep and play direct into the front two. Weimann is going to have to help put pressure on their midfield or Delph and Westwood could get completely outpassed by everton
