I am certain that Everton fans will whinge and moan about absolutely everything and sing their one song, maybe once.

Awful fans.

And they'll play that god awful song before the game and at half time.

We used to get along OK with them until about 10 years ago - what happened?

Is a question often asked.

Everton fans blotted their copybook with me forever when I was stood outside Goodison waiting to get into the ground and I overheard two of their fans bemoaning the fact that the Villa team was "full of n*****s." This was the first game of the season late in the BFR era if I remember rightly.

2-2 draw opening day probably, Fashanu scored on his debut and Deano got the other. At that stage in 1994 I think Daniel Amokachi, their summer signing, was the first black player they ever fielded. Earl Barrett must have been no 2, they got him from us at the end of that campaign.

"Everton are white" used to be the song.

Welcome to the first weather report of the weekend. It's bloody freezing and there's snow on the ground.

However, I am currently at the Chillfactore ski slope, Trafford Park.

Outside it's just a bit drizzly.

Steven Naismith to lead the line according to the BBC, have to be happy with that. Maybe Martinez will play a false nine and totally engulf the midfield, who knows?

Everton  like to play with their full-backs (Baines/Coleman) in a very attacking role, overlapping down the flanks and even getting them in the box to support the attack, so as others have said this leaves a lot of potential space to get in behind them. In the Liverpool - Everton derby during the week Liverpool really exploited this, played the counter attacking game, and it paid off. Hopefully then Martinez will play a similar style tomorrow as this would really suit us. Would like to think we can at least get a draw out of this.

If Gabby isn't playing I would like to see Albrighton start to give us that counter attacking pace, if we can catch their fullbacks out of position and pressed high up the field we can exploit that space in behind down the wings, so while i expect any break by us would still involve a hoof up the middle of the park to Benteke, we really need someone running on into the space either side to pick up the flick ons.

God, can they whinge. No one has a bigger 'victim mentality' at home if decisions start going against them. Two free kicks in the opposition's favour is usually enough to get them going with the ironic cheers etc when they then get a decision

If you mean 'It's a grand old team to play for', we used to sing that.

I say it seemingly every time before "the top division's most played fixture", but I like Everton, see lots of similarities between the two clubs and can't comprehend where their animosity towards us has come from.

EFC 1-2 AVFC

Benteke 6, 83
Barry 18

We must exploit their full back Stones I think it is, Sturridge ran him ragged in the Mersey derby. We need to play with some width I don't fancy us with a narrow 3 up against their midfield.

UTV!!
