A load of fat blokes pretended to be hard and then went and lied about their exploits in the pub later. It was ever thus.

Were they top boys though ?
Did they avoid the OB ?

PW got it spot on. We landed on their manor early doors and 30 of us took the piss in their HQ til Blind Tony got a call on the blower to say MH and 30 of their top lads were waiting at the BG. We bailed out of there and walked over and sure enough they were waiting halfway up the hill, we steamed up there and they had it away on their toes straight away. I thought, somethings not right and sure enough, we gets round the corner and there's 300 of them, game lads all tooled up and ready, it was right on top I tell you but no-one took a backward step and there was a nice little toe to toe for a good 5 minutes , ( respect to the lad who got cut ). Harry the Lithuanian put their top lad on his arse and we were just getting them on their toes when OB turned up in numbers. Scuttle tried to pull everyone together but OB steamed in with batons and nicked a few so we dived into the nearest boozer til it quietened down. I would have stayed but we've got double Geography on Wednesdays so I arranged to meet the rest of the firm later

The Albion escort was attacked near the church and there were some fisticuffs.

Shouldn't bring your vintage car to football

Ha ha! Very good!

Why was there a mob of Albion over that side of Aston anyway, had they all appeared on the train from New Street or something ?

I saw their firm in Witton Lane at about ten to eight as I was on my way to the match. They were in a very bad mood. I sensed that either the OB or the Villa may have knocked them about a bit, they seemed so angry.

I sang the first line of "Oh I do like to be beside the seaside" and about half a dozen of them tried to escape the clutches of the police to get at me. I thought "I bet they don't know they're winning".

Yes. They 'plotted up' at The Sun On The Hill in town, and arrived by train at around 7.25. I get to observe shit like this when not selling the fanzine.

There seemed to be a few of them loitering with intent when I was heading into the North stand about ten minutes before kick off but I didn't see or hear anything after the game. In fact I thought it was actually quieter than last year.

I did bump into the Strollers mob at New Street station, surrounded by police.  They were a noisy lot.  I tried not to gawp too much.

More like a load of youths who lied about it on the Internet after.

I saw the same group as Bren mentioned,  they were singing "you don't know what you're doing" at the coppers which seemed to be the exact opposite of the reality of the situation.

All this begs the question why this match wasn't played on saturday. it was moved assuming all premier league teams would have at least one club in the 4th round. Why they assumed this in advance of the fixtures I do not know. Easier to police an afternoon match than an evening one.

You are an intruder on this site from the Headhunters or the ICF. The fact that nobody in your firm took a slap gives the game away.

It was part of a routine round of fixtures. There's always a midweek round this time of the year.
