Any ideas when me might know if the Derby game is going to be moved?

Erdington, the u-bend in the toilet of North Birmingham

Hey, hey, hey... I grew up in Erdington
.

Me too.
Two brothers still live there with their families, both senior professionals. Maybe a touch of generalisation in the article?

I have many happy memories of being brought up in Erdington (Orchard Road). It's sad to hear it may not be the   place i remember so well.

Have the misfortune to work in Erdington, the High Street is a hole full of pound/bargain shops and at last count 10 different Polish/eastern European shops.. its somewhere not to be around in the evenings as groups of pissed up blokes seem to hang around the skleps drinking super strength lager and generally being a pain in the arse.

As for pubs, the Acorn has changed names again and is a shithole full of reprobates who think the massive Weatherspoons around the corner is too classy for them..havent got the courage to venture into the Swan at the top of the High Street but judging by the groups of gammon faced men loitering outside smoking its not somewhere you want to go.

All the other pubs around the High St are long gone, theres 3 Greggs and even a £1 bakery to compliment the other pound shops.

Theres a couple of small independent cafes/coffee shops, but as ones attached to some weird church i refuse to go in there.. the other looks a bit too vegan for me (seems very out of place given the rest of the street and the clientele).

In short, avoid Erdington, drink up by the Yenton, or even Sutton, train straight to Aston for the game.

Part of that Church actually got burnt down 10 years ago so they rebuilt it with a coffee shop inside.

Not sure who you are but stay away from the Cross keys - not nice locals at all. There is a pub at the roundabout by the ground called the Witton arms - home and away fans allowed in separate parts of the pub - £3 in

Maybe Xia can help regenerate Erdington with local lad Gabby being given a consultancy remit under a new four year contract.

Sorry but NO, the keys is alright no more than that, just alright, I suppose if you go in to any pub with an attitude your going to cause interest. I will say the pubs in Erdington leave a lot to be desired but they sell beer and other things and being Erdington you can guarantee it will be 90% Villa.

Apologies if I missed it on this thread but the events of Friday night don't do much to dispel the general view of Erdington portrayed on here...

I think if you were twinning Erdington with parts of other cities Longton in Stoke would be right up there. Went out with a girl from there years ago and it's the spitting image in terms of quality of shops and down and out people. Also has a green glass roof to the entrance to the shopping parade as in Erdo.

Bootle in Liverpool also reminded me of it when I somehow ended up drinking there before Everton away a few years ago.
