I can see them sliding back to Division 3 (Div 1 in modern language).  No spend, ancient history football. a fan base which makes our moaners seem optimistic

One of their sayings from my youth:

ĎAt least weíve never been in the 3rd Divisioní

My first ever interaction with a nose was the same, although he didn't get to use it for long.

A Bluenose uncle of mine used to love playing the "We've never been in the third division" line. I had to bide my time and bite my tongue for several years growing up but it was a wonderful day when they went down to the third tier.

I can't think of Barry and Albion without laughing. Them claiming us and Barcelona were in some sort of dodgy deal together so that we get Barry. Absolute paranoid fuckwits.
Itís basically down to us recruiting Mark Harrison from Albion as academy manager.
I find entirely plausible that two of the worlds top clubs would work together to fuck over minnows like West Brom.

Could be that Big Sam has dropped a bollock by saying before the game tonight that Snodgrass can't play because of a 'Gentlemen's Agreement' after he signed from the Kit Stealers - which in itself is an oxymoron when you consider the ownership of the Kit Stealers.

Being reported on Twitter (Rob Harris and Matt Law) that the PL will investigate - as they should.

Hopefully a points deduction for both clubs.

I always thought it was quite a common practice that a loan player didn't feature against their parent club, whether it be a written agreement or just a gentleman's agreement.

That was my first thought too, but it turns out they've bought him. He's not on loan, he is an Albion player.

He's signed a deal for 18 months - so not a loan (at least as it has been reported).

He's not on loan, he's signed for them. It's really odd, not to mention fucking stupid, he was impressive on Sat and may have made a difference tonight.

Anyway, I agree, points deductions all round

The precedent was set when Howard didn't play against Manure (although that was a loan that then became Permanent) and the FA was never going to censure Fergiescum.

Nor should they be.

Why ever not?

Because they haven't done anything wrong. If we were selling a player to a team we were playing a week later I'd be wanting an agreement that he couldn't play so you don't end up looking stupid if he scores.

If West Ham didn't want him to play against them the only other option was to prevent him moving till the end of the month. So he misses more games. Nobody benefits there.

This sort of thing has being going on for years and is basically harmless.

Manure have been getting away for years in selling their players off with a clause that they have to play shit against them, and nothing has come from that.
