Is this really us in transition? I'm sorry but lambert has bought volume over substance! Lack of
Quality is shocking.
At present I can't see us beating anyone and that is
Very very worrying

As much as Lambert has to be accountable for some of what we are seeing it must be shit to as picks the team that Vlaar, Benteke, Okore, Gabby, N'Zogbia etc are all out injured

Put those 5 into the side and we are very different, but the back up to those he has bought have been really poor so far.

Yep and throw in players like Westwood, Weimann, Lowton who have all regressed and it's a very difficult situation right now
I do wonder sometimes with those mentioned, whether they had another level or not. They may just have been found out. Certainly I really don't see the fuss with Weimann.
It's a shame Delfouneso didn't have Weimanns application and workrate.

I don't think we've been great but Stoke are the same bunch of classless, cheating thugs that they always have been. We should be getting a point out of this at the least but I can't see it
We have been rubbish in the final third and have been for a while.

I have no patience with Lambert left. Terrible football, terrible signings, terrible excuses.

I agree: terrible, boring, turgid

Still a few results going our way today, but, at this rate we'll be in the bottom 3 by the end of the Arsenal game on Monday 13th Jan I reckon.

That's the worry and it's a valid concern as well. This era of buying out of their depth lower league players and cheap foreigners is dicing with our Premier League status. It really isn't good enough for Villa. Lerner has to decide to either invest serious money into the club or find someone who will.

We're shit. No clue or plan. Can't see us winning for a very long time.

We need 3 players in Jan. And the loan market, at our current level of finance, has to be looked at too.

Stoke 2-1 Aston Villa
Stoke are dominant now and Aston Villa do not seem to have any answer, they certainly don't look like drawing level for a second time

The two home games over Christmas are so significant now.4 plus points, and we'll be clear of the rabble.Anything less, and as Jon says,we'll be in the mix.

There's far too many on that pitch, whom are not of the standard for a mid table team.Nothing against the man, biut Bowery seems to be a Brewster's Millions experience on the part of PL

Yet again though, we'll have a whinge for a day and a half, then the anger will dissipate and we'll forget how fucking awful our play is by next week.

Someone earlier commented that this side was as bad as those seen under Graham Turner - Am beginning to think that is a bit of a sleight against Turner - This is one "car crash" or abortion of a line up.
I salute the optimists who post on here but are we really any better than last season?
McLeish and Lambert - is there really any difference?

Until the next turgid performance.
