Playing Herd CB was a ridiculous call. Cost us the game IMHO.

I wouldn't say it cost us the game because Lambert got a lot else wrong as well but it was a mad idea. He might be ok in there as part of a back five with proper full backs either side but throwing him in on Sunday was not one of Lambert's best ideas.

Should have kept Baker and Clark as CB's and played lowton and Bacuna as FB's.
Lambert seems to have caught the MON disease of playing CB's as FB's. Stupid. And worrying.

That's certainly the way I hope he goes on Sunday against utd - Lowton at right back and bacuna on the left - too many players out of position causes problems.

Also to protect a possible fragile defence, he should have gone with four in midfield and two up front. There was no need to play Weimann.

Weimanns form is a real worry. He seems unable to get involved in games at all. Can't work out what role he's supposed to be playing. Again he's essentially a CF playing out of position now.

Villa 1 Plastics 0

25 yard screamer from Tonev. Probability says that at least one will eventually be on target.

Again , I agree, Weimann is woefully out of form - did hardly anything of note in the game at all.

Not in my view. Bacuna was targetted and badly exposed, being at fault for both goals.

His best game was against Man City, playing through the middle. The sad part is that because his form has been so poor now, that if we put him in the middle, he'd need a run of 5-6 games to find his feet again I reckon. We can't afford that. I'd be benching over the Crimb period now.

Yep and Herd was our best defender that day. I thought he played okay. The fullbacks are the problem at the minute. Both Bacuna and Baker got murdered (by frankly average wingers).

Valencia , giggs, young , Rooney, van persie - whoever they play our young defence will be run ragged - moyes will have them bang up for it too :(

He didn't have them bang up for it last night,  they looked average at times.

They haven't been bang up for it all season, hence why its December, we're 11th and Man United are only 3 points and two places higher.

They know this is a must win game and that attention will be focused on them - I think they will be fired up for this game although I think the title is long gone .
