Perhaps David O'Leary's finest result as Villa boss? Great game though the late Crespo goal made the scoreline seem a lot closer than it actually was. Hitzlsperger only seemed to score stunning goals. Angel/Vassell was a brilliant strike partnership although Angel didn't feature here.

Yeah really enjoyed that game, think it was Easter Monday and Chelsea had just beaten Arsenal in the champions league.

We came out of nowhere to very nearly finish 4th that season.

I remember sitting in the Lower Holte with my dad, and after Chelsea opened the scoring I turned to my dad and said, 'we've lost'. My dad replied, 'absolutely not, we'll win this. It's only just started'. He was right. I also remember next to us were a family from Ecuador. Some of whom were wearing Chelsea shirts.haha. They were a friendly bunch, just there to see De La Cruz. We were excellent this game. A week later, if we had beaten Newcastle and their time wasting wanker of a goalkeeper (what was his name again?:) ) I believe we would have gotten that fourth spot. Exciting times they were.

Also, another great memory of that game is the Holte End serenading the Chelsea fans with 'Champions League, you're having a laugh'. Sadly, in 2012, they weren't.

I used to love Samuel and his marauding runs down the left side. He was good up until Blues at home in December 2004 when he assisted to the conceding of Dunn's goal.

Great game, remember it well. Real feelgood factor around the club the second hald of that season which is easily forgotten with what a c*** DOL was.
At one point we were chanting to the Chelsea fans "you're going to win fuck all" If only...
