Mosconi Cup
« on: December 03, 2013, 06:32:31 PM »
I love a game of 9 ball pool so am glued to this every year. For the uninitiated, its like the Ryder Cup for pool.

Race to 11 match wins. Day one. Five played and five European wins.

Made more impressive by it taking place in Vegas in front of a partisan home crowd.

Is anyone else watching it?

PS It is great that the Pantomime villain that is Earl the Pearl is back. I upset him enormously once in Cardiff when the Mosconi was there and he didnt disappoint.

He is like a Deep South, trailer trash version of DOL if that helps to frame his self important persona.

We're battering them. 8-2. They've turned Earl Strickland's microphone off cos he keeps moaning and swearing all the time. Unusual for an American to be a bad loser...

They were lucky to get their first point as well.

This is what Sky will become when they've lost all the football rights; Pool, Darts and Greyhound Racing.

To be fair none of the Americans really annoy me, the only out and out twat is Strickland and it's funny that he's so would up as they're getting a tonking.

Only 3 more wins to go.

I do like the Mosconi Cup, but haven't seen any of this years.

It's better now that the sport has grown a little on Sky and they actually use the best European players instead of drafting in more well known snooker players to try and get the ratings up.

Expecting to watch us lift the cup tonight and then a bit of cricket.

Strickland got upset with me in Cardiff after behaving like a tool, waving me away in the rudest fashion when I tried to have a chat to see if the on table stuff was for TV and went chuffing mental when I referred to him as a self important, ridiculous tash wearing, ******.

Nothing he said in the exchange that lasted the next ten minutes in the bar changed my mind.

I think that is in response to the excited USA chants. Although the European in question is definitely English. And pissed.

Strickland took twattery to a new level tonight. I think I was a bit like him when I used to play snooker aged about 7 or 8.

Brilliant to watch.

Is it going to turn into Indoor League? Brilliant. Fetch Fred Trueman.

Indoor League was exactly what went through my head when I saw that as well.
