I remember the Everton fans applauding us as they left the ground, as indeed did Neville Southall. There was a mini bus of us who then stopped off in Nantwich on the way home, as a certain person had put in the H&V magazine that was the place to go.
I recall it was quite a nice place and we stood out like a sore thumb.
We then adjourned to Stafford, where there was an altercation with the locals, happy days.

Not the best of quality, but came across a video of the goals.

Blackpool away in the 74/75 season when we won 3-0 I think with Leighton Phillips scoring, remember the beach before and after being a sea of claret and blue was a cracker to ,but the Everton game was amazing sung myself till I was hoarse

Doesn't do it justice. I remember not seeing the penalty because I, like everyone else, was singing and dancing at the time. At no point from half-time onwards did it stop.

A guy two rows in front of me at Everton on Saturday starting singing it, the young kids next to him gave him strange looks but I got it.

Will that day ever be topped as an away experience?

Never. It was the end of an era, both for Villa and for English football.

The most perfect, nonchlant free kick ever.

If anyone ever asks how good Sid was, you could just replay that clip.

Indeed.  So it begs the question why he didn't get more?   Maybe we just didn't get many free kicks :-)

Incredible when you think we were robbed at the end and didn't even win the match.
