And so the 'Arry walkathon begins.

From some of our own fans too by the sounds of it.

She only phones in to slag off the Villa. She sums up their fan base who are defined by their obsession and hatred of all things claret and blue.

I love the way some of our local rival fans devise new ways to try and justify their lower attendances. A couple of months ago a baggies fan called in and said that if Villa were well supported they'd be getting crowds like Man Utd or Man City because Manchester is also a big city with two major clubs, similar to Birmingham. Tonight, another baggies fan stated that West Bromwich is a small town of 100,000 and they regularly get 25,000 attendances so a crowd that is quarter of the town's population is a far better percentage than what Villa ever achieve. He sounded pretty smug as he delivered these well researched facts. Ingenious.

There was even a Wolves fan at it earlier in the week, saying that they had the biggest away following because they took 9,000 to Anfield in the FA Cup.  Franks of course "put it out there" until Regan pointed out that Villa's average away attendance was over double that of the Wolves.  They seem obsessed on that station about who is the biggest club in the area.

It's the radio equivalent of clickbait. Say something controversial that everyone can join in with and watch the calls come in.

True Dave.  I'm sure their switchboard lights up with calls from the Sandwell area every time that subject is raised.

That they can still have the conversation about who is top/bestest/better supported whilst we are at almost our lowest ebb rings volumes. If we have even an average season for our usual level we're top of every West Midlands list. That (even in one of our worst seasons in history) we are still 2nd in the best team list, have best home and away attendances (not bothering with biggest club because that's a given even tot eh most bitter of bitters), and have further reach outside of the West midlands galls. I just shrug and smile at this stuff because as said, most of it is designed purely to get people to phone in. Rile the fans of the biggest club, why not? What else is their to give a sh*t about?

On a loosely related subject smethwick are expressing serious concerns about the sudden upsurge in demand for tickets in the home ends for Fridays game at home to Chelsea.  Seems some of their lot may have been reselling tickets to chavski fans.  Wim know what wim are.

I've always thought it suffered from moving to a phone in every night.

I used to listen to the Friday phone in when it was once a week and even then (and on Ron Toss) you'd get the same callers in every week.

To me have one on a Monday for reaction and then another on the Friday and that's enough otherwise you suffer from lack of material particularly when there's no midweek games so WM then resort to the who has the biggest following argument which has been done a thousand times before.

Haven't listened for ages but thought I'd see what they were about 'Arry last night...they still have the same handful of callers and even resorted to guess the age of a caller after making out Ken the Bluenose to be some kind of minor celebrity and voice of reason in the world of Midlands football. Then you have batshit crazy Polly who is literally gasping to suck off Martin O'Connor insisting we are all running scared now because two of her Villa supporting relatives didn't want them to appoint 'Arry...oh yeah, Blose aren't as bad a team as their narrow escape form relegation suggests, Call Me Franksy then states that the last 3 months of the season are irrelevant as they used to be in 6th position under Rowett. Unbelievable.
