The raids in Birmingham after yesterday's attacks must have taken the BBC by suprise, so the live reporter from the Hagley Road this morning on 5 Live was none other than Daz Hale. He's trying to deliver his first ever piece of serious radio, but he still can't help to do so without a chuckle in his voice. Awful.

On another note - interesting listen last night, with Spinky.Talking about best ever moments - obviously for anyone there it would have to be Rotterdam (although I know for some beating Man Utd in 1970 runs it close).Anyway, some tremendous memories, one caller - Ray - I think must have been in the same party as me from New Street in the early hours of the Wednesday morning - straight back to Calais (or was it Dunquerke ?) after the game, only to see the last ferry departing for Dover leaving as we got there - and abandoned in the railway station overnight ! - Who cared - we were the European Champions !Also interesting, Nigel didn't seem to accurately recall the Barcelona game in the Super Cup 6 months later, I think he said that Sid's penalty rebound levelled the tie overall - of course Gary Shaw's goal at the Holte End made it 1-1 on aggregate - I always remember that because it came from a free kick about 30 yards from goal and one of their players was about 6 inches away when it was taken, however the referee, making a superb decision, decided to play on and see what happened and of course the ball bounced to Gary Shaw and he smashed it in - their players then surrounded the referee saying the free kick should've been re-taken as their player wasn't 10 yards away. That really was a violent night and it was mentioned about Sid being volleyed into the net by their goalie after he scored on the rebound.A really interesting phone-in.

Apparently fwanksy said of the scum at Ipswich on his show that they played with 5 at the back 6 in midfield and 1 up front. If true that sums him, his show and radio wm up!!!!
Comedy gold. I particularly enjoyed Rob the Villa fan. Sounded like he needed the number for samaritans he was so unhappy after our sixth win in seven and only one goal conceded. Christ knows what he does if we draw.

Well other than our win, tonight's highlight was some Nose calling in to Franksy saying that they should sack Zola and get Francis back. I honestly never thought I'd hear that again. Brilliant.
