I used to listen to Tony Butler in the late 70's on away games and european trips, Jasper Carrot sketch did his phone in saying what is Trevor Francis initials and the answer was something like"is it 1968 tone" and the reply was yes, you are the closest

I listen to it invariably, the presenters or whatever you call them, try so hard to force debate, and yes they do take an anti Villa slant, but they also prove to me that they have little or no knowledge of football, and they don't really care as its just their job.

similar story to the Birmingham rag really.

To be honest, it's only really Franks who comes out with the anti-Villa stuff, the others aren't too bad (I actually find Regan's views on Villa worth a listen).  The callers on the other hand ....

The quality of the callers really makes me question the intellect of the West Midlands public in general...this goes for the morning callers too. It really is like listening to a phone in for dumb and dumber.

I bet they don't get out and about a lot especially without their carers

Nice to hear Villa fan taxi driver Jason's sycophantic call tonight. "Richard, I just want to say what a great job you've done these last two weeks while Frankys away"

Reply from Richard Wilford "it's been Rego the last three days"

It got a bit much then when Polly the nose cat lady came on moaning about the villa. Turned off then.

This morning the WM sports news bulletins were referring to Steve Clemence as the new Assistant Manager. Whereas the Club OS and other media say he is the new First Team Coach. Ok I realise they are a bunch of boneheads, but why keep repeating what appears to be wrong information?
Anyone else pick up on this?

They're all probably just recordings. No one has phoned in WM for about 14 years.

It was better when it was once a week on a Friday night and then phone in after the games on Saturdays and midweeks.

I've never really understood why they changed it to a phone in ever single night of the week, there's only so much you can talk about surely particularly in international breaks where little happens unless there's a change of manager.

Because fans want to talk about football all the time, which is why this site is busy with posters every day of the week.
