Tom Ross was pretty scathing about what Sherwood said about Traore on Friday.  Really sounds offended about Sherwood  "lying to him".

What was said about Traore?

Sherwood said he would probably not feature this season and that the Palace game was too early.

Franksy saying "let's take the positives out of the baggies defeat yesterday" no mention of them propping up the division. Villa were 3 minutes away from a decent draw at Palace, and yet he focuses only on the negatives!

He did say about Albion being bottom, but went on to add that it was only because they had played Chelsea and Man City.  Of course he didn't mention that had they not drawn with Watford they wouldn't be bottom, but there you go.

Not WM related, but was driving down to the South Coast on Friday to visit a friend and was listening to Talksport.  They were having updates from the Blues v Derby game and I nearly crashed the car when the first one said "And now over to St Andrews and our reporter there ........ Tom Ross". How long has he been on there?

BRMB have lost all the rights haven't they to live games?

Their co commentators Bomber Brown and Darren Carter now turning up on WM.

And I guess that Watford game when they crossed the halfway line twice was a heroic point while us winning at Bournemouth was daylight robbery?

Have they never heard of a manager deliberately down playing expectations?  As usual it's been totally misinterpreted.  He said he wasn't for this season and isn't the saviour both of which probably have an air of truth about them.

Listened on the way home tonight, two highlights.
Our favourite sports presenter actually suggesting that Villa against Sunderland is a six-pointer.
A Villa fan called in to say Randy Lerner had wasted £40 million that he could have been better spent on getting Jurgen Klopp in.

A mate of mine was listening and said that someone called into say we would be relegated by Christmas and that all of the new players are rubbish.
That was the bloke who wanted Klopp in. The new players have no premier league experience, can't create anything or score goals.

You would think he might have twigged Sherwood plays fast and loose about Traore since he said "I have never heard of him <laughs> so we will probably sign him tomorrow" .... the day before he signed him.

Franksey has a song for Rondon. Oh dear, oh dear.

Heavens to betsy, I heard that. What a pillock.

Rondon sounds like someone who would be a pundit alongside Ron Manager on The Fast Show. It also reminds me of the glory years of Albion's successive managers being Don, Johnny, Ronnie, Ron, Ronnie, Ron, Johnny Giles, Nobby Stiles, Ron and Ron. Then Brian. There has to be a song in all that somewhere.

The argument was that Sherwood shouldn't lie and mislead the local media.  I think it was Tom Ross and Mark Regan  who were doing the interviews.

Would that be the same Tom Ross and Mark Regan who did the FA Cup interviews when Lambert was stitched up?

I loved it how Regan was adamant on Friday's phone in that we wouldn't be seeing Traore this season.  What a tool he looked when he came on on Saturday.

Stating the bleeding obvious here but why don't people just stop listening to Radio WM? I'm lucky as I am not even tempted as I live in Bedfordshire but I took the decision to boycott Talksport about two years ago. I can only imagine that this type of bottom of the barrel sport reporting deliberately incites supporters so that they ring in- perhaps there is a correlation between advertising fees and being able to prove listener figures?

Seems to me that the anger towards such poor broadcasting only serves to act as oxygen to keep the fire going, starve them of it and I am sure they will disappear.

WM is really good.

On this mornings breakfast show they had an 8 minute feature on an 18 year old bloke from Cannock who had cycled from Burntwood to Cannock with an ironing board (that he had found by the side of the road) on his back.  They were actually in his home doing this pivotal interview.

I never tune in to WM at home at any time of the day or week, but very often my drive home coincides with the football phone-in. Unlike some, I like the "so bad it's good" aspect, and despite the seemingly lack of support for our club I find the basic level of broadcasting quite funny, particularly with the same repetitive cycle of regular banal callers who don't help to raise the standard one iota. I even have a little cheer to myself when Dennis phones in.
