See WM have Bomber Brown as co commentator now.

Have BRMB or whatever they're called now given up covering football now or is it just Tom Ross hysterically shouting to himself whenever a team gets a throw in on the half way line?

I think Xtra AM just have a phone in now. No live Premier League football. Not sure if they cover the lower league stuff?

I remember Mel Eves by name for Wolves but wouldn't recognise him if he walked in and shat on the cat. I couldn't tell you if he was an attacker, defender or substitute.

Bomber Brown was a good player, mind.

I'm sure his lad went to my school and works or has worked at the Villa in some capacity.

As a nipper, I met his father in Crusties bakery in Erdington and he said the same. Only one of us was impressed.

I'm sure I may have posted this before so apologies for repeating.  Back in 1977 we lived in Great Barr and being Catholics attended mass in The Holy Name church at the Scott Arms.  Tony Brown and his wife always sat in the pew behind us.  Our daughter was a small baby at the time and Brown and his missus spent a lot of time playing with, and amusing her.  They were nice people.  As a slight aside, as said, he was a bloody good player who was deadly in front of goal.

He was what my Stripey workmates used to call "Johnny-on-the-spot." Usually in just the right place to tap the ball home.
