Didn't like it at first cos I knew it was a nose song...
but it's a good "tune" and for our last game of last season it was relevant to the situation....everyone bigging up Wigan's FA Cup win and many thinking IT would all come down to that one game.

I liked it on Sat and tonight because I think it sends out a message that we don't care about the Sky 4 and the media's obsession with them...WE care about US...as the fans of every club care about their own club.
My mate who follows Kiddy Harriers believes his club is more important than ManU or Chavski yet these clubs are presented by the media as being the only things that matter in football.
Unless there's a good story to be made out of them in a "potential giant-killer" cup match.
I honestly don't give a f**k about any of them....but I do care about the Villa!

Took until the second half for the guy starting it in the upper tier every time to realise that we were in fact playing against Chelsea and not Arsenal tonight.

Yeah, I was stood a few places to his right and it was embarrassing. I refused to join in until it was clear we were singing about the right team. It is very infectious and causes a right racket because of the clapping that goes with it.

blimey, a lot of overeaction about a song. It is your choice not to sing it, but I shall as I believe any noise from the Villa faithful is better than nothing.

Thats why I like the song. Its one we can sing for five minutes straight, that children can join in with without risking being told off and its very loud.

I don't mind the my old man song, at least it pays tribute to three former Villa players, including one who is no longer with us. The Karen Brady one is mildly amusing. Just singing "shit on the city" or "stand up when you hate the Blues", when we're not playing them, is just sad.

If Blues or Albion are on telly I like to have a bet about how long into the game it will be before they start singing about us. Usually it happens within a minute. I like to think we're above their tedious level of obsession.

I'm not overly-bothered though. The main songs that piss me off are the McGrath on the piss song and the no respect bollocks.

Their does seem to be a tendency, not just among Villa fans, to feel that the point of singing is to annoy the opposition more than to encourage the players. I have no problem with slagging off particular scummy teams/managers/players, but is there a need for "Fulham's a shithole"? Anyhow, whinge over... for now.

The Villa fans last night were immense all the way through, I'd say less than 5% of the singing was SHA related. I agree the "We don't care about Chelsea etc..." tune is a little bit naff and I'd prefer just a constant PL Claret and Blue Army chant but I do genuinely believe the away fans are an absolute credit to the club and the best in the league. Unwavering support through thick and thin is one of the many reasons I love Villa and I think the players do respond to the fantastic positive support we offer so I'm not going to stop singing a song and sit there in silence just because it's not 100% perfect.
