He'd have done the same thing if he hadn't had any kids. It's such a lame excuse for such blatant backtracking.

I know we've had players treat us like toilet roll in the past, Downing being a prime example but this guy absolutely takes the piss. This interview where he cites family being the driver behind a move to city is utter bullshit. There is no acceptance that what he did was wrong and rather than apologise and admit he made a mistake and handled it badly he just digs a bigger hole for himself. I hope he gets back fit for the Villa game he really deserves the worst reception ever given to a former player and he should receive a lifetime ban from Villa Park after he hangs up his boot.

Things got better once the snake had gone.

Abso-fucking-lutely.  He just gets worse and worse, and using his family as an excuse is just him continuing to dig an even bigger hole.  His family will never want for anything of course, but he'll have to explain to his kids in years to come why he gets such dog's abuse at Villa Park.  I don't suppose he'll tell them it's because he's a lying, treacherous snake, but hopefully they'll get to know.

When a player who earned so much respect, not only from us but football in general only 6 months ago is now a laughing stock and the subject of an entire tsunami of Internet vitriol - you know he's fucked up BIG time.

Well once his footballing days are over I am sure he has all the right credentials to become a politician.

I'd hope they wouldn't; they don't deserve it.

Of course he had to do it for his family.  You know, he was probably only earning upwards of £50,000 a week at Villa.  I mean what a terrible situation for him and his family to be in, living in such hardship.

It's obvious he's not the brightest, so someone really should tell him to shut his mouth as he's only making things worse.

Some of the comments on his Instagram were just awful but some were quite catchy!

'Fabian Delphs a wanker, he wears a wankers hat, he said that he was loyal, the lying fucking twat. There's still loyalty in football is what he fucking said, but all we want is Ciaran Clark to break his fucking leg!😂

He really is a complete narcissist. Totally incapable of accepting responsibility and now putting it on his family's shoulders. His spine is totally absent, the sort of guy who'd jump on the lifeboat before his wife and children. To be an arse once is unforgivable, to choose to continue being an arse shows him to be a complete ******. He needs to man the fuck up and accept his total cuntery.

Am I being clear?
