Well I'm hardly holding my breath as I'm just happy he's not moving. But you can't tell me you're not even in the slightest bit curious.

Apparently Rodney Marsh said he changed his mind after clearly being told that he would not make any starts and if selected will be on the bench but he said he would love to hear it from Delph as to why he changed his mind? Make what you like of that!

Rodney Marsh is a prat.

You could argue he was only saying what some people on here said about the club not only a few hours ago.

Not particularly. We'll either find out or we won't.

I'm sure the loyalty thing was a factor, so was having enough game time, being a Captain here to not playing week in and week out up there. Also, maybe he and his family are settled in the area. I would think being the Captain. Would be quite a pull, once given that sort of status, it's hard to give it up. Anyway, good on him for staying. I hope he's joined by more talent in the coming days and weeks.

City Watch @City_Watch
Delph called off his move "after a sleepless night reading angry reactions from fans of the Midlands club" according to the Mirror.
10:05 PM - 11 Jul 2015

I reckon that is utter bollocks. I'd be stunned if fans made him change his mind. More it made more sense for him to stay one of which being he actually enjoys playing for Villa. But to think fans angry reactions were what did it is a bit far fetched.

Sounds more like someone's trying to make excuses for being totally wrong.

Yep.

The blue room forum are mentioning a failed medical which I don't believe for a second. Given the speed with which we've heard that he's going to him not going I'm interested to know why. i'd guess that most people have the same interest. We may never find out why and the media may well tire of it. We may never find out because he's hardly likely to say that he bottled it, that he didn't think he was good enough to play for them regularly but would us, but I'd be interested to hear the reason all the same.

I don't think Rodney marsh has said anything correct or positive about our club for a while. This yeah I can remember him saying something about us being a loser club, something about Grealish not being good enough and how Sherwood can't repair this team.

So yeah, I think we can ignore him.

@Jbuckers: Met #delph today, quizzed him on the citteh move and he said it was never on the cards and he loves the villa #avfc http://t.co/MJqX4iUral

So far the reasons he is staying are: He's failed a medical, read angry posts by us, been told by Citeh he would only be a benchwarmer. Ever get the feeling they are making it up as they go along?

I love the idea of that. So Citeh say 'right we want to sign you Fabian' and Fab says 'sounds good' and then they say 'but your best case scenario is you'll make the bench and you definitely won't start'. Utter bollocks.

What might be smart from Villa would be to try and convince him to sign a new deal without the clause or at least with a better value one. I'm not keen on renegotiating contracts so soon after signing them, but if possible and if Delph is willing to listen it might be sensible.

Like he's privy to City's transfer and contract negotiations.

Like I said, he's a prat.
